I bought a pre-owned front loader washing machine, a seemingly very nice one that was supposed to be pre-owned for around 6 months. I signed up for the six months same as cash, and was told that we had a one year warranty with the store. One month into using my washer, it began showing two codes. It wasn't emptying the water completely. Two men came out to take the washer to be fixed, and when they entered one man began talking loudly to my wife. She had gotten out of the hospital two days prior to this and had been through a bout of streptococcal pneumonia that almost took her life. She was standing in front of the two men who arrived, and she was wearing an oxygen tube. One of the men began going on and on interrogating my wife about the kind of laundry detergent she uses, saying that she likely clogged the filter by putting powdered detergent in the slot allotted for that purpose. She had not gotten to use the machine before she got sick. With all the loud talking the one guy was doing, she became confused and began shaking and yelled at the guy to stop talking so loudly. You would think that the oxygen tube she had on her face would clue this guy in that she wasn't in good health, but it didn't register with him. Our son took over the conversation so my wife could rest, and then the washer was off to be serviced.
We waited three months before our washer came back to our residence. Fast forward two months later, after we had paid the washer off early, it began flashing the same codes ... again! I called Aarons, and I was told that it wasn't their problem. So much for that one year warranty!!
From there I called the manufacturer and gave them the number on the washing machine. I was told that the machine was a 2015 model. I was absolutely astounded!! I was led to believe that I was buying a 2017 preowned washing machine that had only been used for six months. I was lied to, TWICE!! I am very angry about this whole situation. The misrepresentation of the product which cost us over $700.00 ... the misrepresentation of the one year warranty, and the disrespect of my sick wife. We also got a report of what had been done to this washing machine, and it clearly stated that a part was worn out and was replaced. Since the same problem resurfaced, the same codes flashing, and judging by the treatment we received, I'm in doubt that much of anything was replaced.
All in all, my wife and I have been good, reliable customers for several years. We have always been on time with our payments. Aarons in Cookeville TN has lost our patronage due to what we've had to endure stemming from their misrepresentation of everything. We have lost trust in our local store.

Read moreNew to the area, my mom referred me to Aaron's of Cookeville back 3 years ago, as I was looking for a bedroom suit. I have never rented furniture before, but had planned on renting to own. I found what I liked, and with my mom, sat in the office with a salesman, and signed the agreements. It was 6 mos same as cash deal, and if paid off within the 6 months, no interest. I was working and had it paid off before the 6 mos. However, on the delivery day, I told the men who delivered and set up, that I'm a big woman, and I hoped it being a queen size bed, would hold me. They assured me this bed would hold my weight. They set it up really fast, and I stayed out of their way. When they left, I noticed all the furniture, including the mattress was USED. Scratches were all over the headboard, dresser, and dirt. I called and complained to the manager, as I was expecting new, and was never told it was used, or I would have never bought it. I have had friends who have rented tvs, furniture, etc and it was always new, but for the price I paid, close to $3000, I had expected new and got used. So I sucked it up, and have had the suit 3 years. Recently, my son said while looking under my bed, he noticed a wooden board broken underneath, with screws visible. For a while now, I have noticed the bed feels like it sinks in the middle. So, I am now faced with the fact, that my bed frame is broken. Do you think the right and moral thing to do, would be for Aaron's to come out, and fix or replace the frame? I do. I spent a lot of money, and could've gotten a better and cheaper deal, if I had wanted used furniture somewhere else, or at a yardsale. Not a fan of Aaron's. And before you comment on my weight, I've seen people in this town the size of barns. I'm 53 yrs old, and I've worked hard, to be able to have a decent bed...
Read moreMy 64 year old mother went here to get a tv and fake fireplace. She ordered specific items. She did not get either item she ordered. The tv was a completely different brand that did not even have Roku built in. And the fireplace did not come with a remote or the option to see the fire without the heat. The receipt had what she ordered. The items she received were clearly different.
She paid a $75 deposit. And an extra $100 cash to go toward the following month. Upon calling the store and having them come get the items she did not even order, Walt (the manager) told her that he would be keeping the $100 she paid for a month she wouldn’t even have the items! He literally just brazenly stole her money. He said, “You give us money, we keep it.”
Lastly, my poor ol’ mother looked at the handful of papers she had signed, and the grand total for a 65” tv (that wasn’t even the one she ordered) and a 60” fireplace was $4,000!!!!
