Do not shop at the Corvallis Big 5!!!! Even though their website claims that not only the Corvallis store but all surrounding stores had Intex french oars in stock. We drive all the way out there to be told by a rude manager that they were in boxes in the back because they were out of season. After waiting for an associate to come out, he finally comes out with a couple sets of their most expensive ones!! He claims there are no other ones and the manager would not even try to honor the price on a different/similar set. His only answer was "we can order you a set from another store" i am extremely unsatisfied with the unprofessional tone and inability/unwillingness to even try and make it right. Do not trust what there website says!!!! On a good tone Play it Again Sports on 9th not only carried equivalent sets on the floor, they were much more courteous, i would check there first for your sporting good needs...
Read moreThere was an incident on the 12th, a couple days ago, where a couple of my friends that came in to purchase a Splat gun and or disrespected and discriminated against and really denied service because they were associated with me, I had gone in later to see if I could purchase the Splat gun and I had gotten denied Service as well, very disrespectfully and rudely because the manager Brian has beef with me that I have no idea what it's about. I had also looked at Big 5's terms and conditions on the store website and it stated that as long as the purchaser was above the age of 18 and the specific products that I was buying was kept I believe it was 4 ft away from individuals 14 and younger it was perfectly fine to buy it, then again I was disrespected and felt like I was being discriminated against. I will never be returning to Big 5 again and I recommend that others stay away from...
Read moreThey have an ok selection of knives. Apparently the manager, who lacks etiquette over the phone (he hung up right when I started to inform him of existing state law) doesn't know or doesn't care that Oregon was THE state where the Supreme Court ruled, a while back, that all people have the right to possess knives so long as they aren't bringing those weapons into courts or public buildings. This Big 5 manager claimed that because of a prominent sign placed on the premises claiming something about age restrictions over knives, he had to card me when I bought a 3" Wartech blade -- I'm 47 dang years old! Get real, Big 5! No one in this state is going to bring a civil tort suit against the Big 5 Sporting Goods store over them selling a KNIFE to a 17-year old person. There is no city ordinance in Corvallis against selling knives to young...
