My mother and I had a very confusing and disappointing experience. We went to buy a sofa for our apartment, and when we arrived at the store the person that greeted us was salesman Manny. We told him we were going to look around and let him know if anything. As we were looking around, we found a sofa we liked, and when we called salesman Manny, he pretended he did not hear us, and someone let him know we were calling him. He did not even acknowledge this, only one of the maybe 5 or 6 salesman that were sitting down doing nothing got up and approached us, when we asked what was going on and why no one (specially the person who we were requesting, salesman Manny) did not want to help us, he said that rooms to go has a policy that if a salesman does not want to deal with a client, they are allow to not deal with them. We were very upset at this of course, but decided to just let it go at the moment and just write this review so everyone would know our experience and make their own judgement before deciding to go to this location. Honestly, we did not care if he wanted to help us or not, We were upset as the lack of professionalism, and the fact that there was not reason not to help us. A professional would not have made the client feel as uncomfortable as he made me and my mother feel. We felt discriminated and not welcomed as clients. Rooms to go should have their employees review this policy as I am sure does not apply to every customer, specially the ones who go there to do business and make them money. A discriminating person like salesman Manny should not work in customer service.
We did appreciate the help of Juan Varela, who made this unpleasant moment a little less unpleasant. We did buy the couch, only because salesman Juan Varela was professional and courteous towards us.
If anyone, specially females is going to this location, please be careful if you deal with Salesman Manny, he definitely...
Read moreIf you’re reading this it’s because you’re getting ready to likely purchase the 2nd largest expenditure a homeowner has behind a new vehicle (homes come once every 20-30 years). Let’s start with the positive…We were out to buy & replace an 11-year-old sectional sofa in our home. We shopped at all the stores in the neighborhood. To be honest, we thought El Dorado had a nicer & better priced unit but we weren’t willing to wait 10-12 weeks due to backorder. Anyway, we opted for this 7-piece set shown in the photos which included 3 power recliners, 2 consoles and plenty of charging stations for your portable devices. The salesman, Juan Varela, was very polite, professional and patient as we visited this store 3X. When we were ready to buy, I made a pitch to purchase the $4700 set contingent on being granted a 10% discount. (Nobody pays sticker price, right?) If you’re thinking, you can bargain with these people and get a discount, FORGET it. I asked the manager to come out and he was puzzled like a deer in a headlight and stated…”no one ever asked that” and politely said NO. We caved, as the wife was tired of running around. They did reduce the delivery & setup fee from $180 to $100 so we got some break. The unit was delivered 8 days later, and we are overall pleased with it with one exception...The operation of the recliner controls located on the sides of the chair is a task to select which directional movement you desire. The delivery guys were not bilingual and there was a challenge with that aspect. However, they were fast & efficient. Only time will tell regarding the quality and reliability of the recliner functions. *TIP: Make sure you test all power functions before the delivery guys leave! We would consider...
Read moreWhat a fabulous experience I had at the RTG in Cutler Ridge. I went to other furniture stores and the salesman either were abrupt or followed us around and made us very uncomfortable. Soco was so professional. Upon entering he introduced himself and when we asked for some time to browse he knew just how much distance to put between us and him, but he watched us from afar and when we were looking at something for a few minutes, he came over and asked if we needed help. It was probably the best experience that I ever had in a retail furnish store. He was so patient & answered all the questions even though we said we were not sure if we were buying something that day.He showed us a variety of couches, mattresses, beds and tables and then he even put a quote together for us and said to call him if we were ready to purchase something. It left such a good feeling with us that when we decided a couple days later to buy a couple of things on our order, we immediately knew we were going back to see him. We will buy other items when we are ready, and for sure I will return and ask for Socco. It’s worth the trip to shop where the salesman are not only knowledgeable but respectful and helpful. Soco, thank you for a...
