I will Never Go Back and it's a Shame. I wanted this to be a great experience. I have missed the Tex-Mex joints of yesteryear when for very cheap you'd get huge tasty enchiladas stuffed with spicy ground beef and a boatload of melted cheese on top. Well, I didn't find that at Taco Rico Cutler Bay. Look, if you want me to spend my hard earned money on your food it has to be more than tasteless enchiladas with like a tablespoon of ground beef and a few strands of melted cheese on top. So disappointed. On top of the skimpy portions the food did not taste very good. It wasn't bad, just not good. I spent $30 on my wife and me and for what? Whoever cooked the meal on Sunday afternoon June 23rd needs to go back to Mexican Food School.
Let me give a couple of positives: 1) The young lady that took our order was nice and pleasant. 2) The facilities and the bathroom was clean. 3) The chips and salsa were decent. 4) nice big parking lot with almost all the spots empty, so plenty of easy parking. 5) They played good Reggae music and not awful Reggaeton. I didn't mind that they weren't playing...

Let me be absolutely clear: Taco Rico’s dipper fries are a menace to public decency. I took one bite and immediately felt like I should be looking over my shoulder. Why? Because these fries paired with that queso aren’t just good—they’re criminally delicious.
We’re talking golden, crispy perfection—fries engineered with the precise dimensions for maximum queso scooping. This isn’t food. This is a weaponized snack experience.
And the queso? My god. It’s not just melted cheese. It’s like someone distilled every joyful childhood memory and added a hint of spice. I dipped one fry, and next thing I know I’m making up excuses to go back again. “Oh look, I left my… dignity there. Better get more fries.”
Honestly, if the FDA hasn’t already investigated this pairing for mind-altering effects, someone’s asleep at the wheel. I’m not saying it’s addictive, but I did black out and wake up surrounded by empty containers whispering “Just...
Read moreThis is Taco Bell quality for triple the prices. That means you will get less food and pay more for it. Taco Rico hasnt improved their menu for the 10+ years I've lived here, but they have consistently increased the prices of their below average Tex Mex and even reduced the amount they serve. This is how they rob you w.o a gun. How much are you willing to pay for the picture of food I took? $5, $10, $12?
That was a $12 "meal".... These are NOT inflation increases. For example, at Chipotle, I wouldve got double the amount of food for the same price, AND Chipotle is organic. Even the Miami Subs across the street has better value (but is ok quality). Since before the pandemic Taco Rico has been overcharging and under delivering.
Taco Rico has been cheating like this for a long time. They seem to associate poor quality meals with Mexican food. Its insulting. Save your money. You wont regret it. Although we dont have many great Mexican spots, there are many other fair...
