Urgent care sent antibiotics for my child after business hours last night so I attempted to call the pharmacy this morning to confirm scripts had arrived. I attempted to call the pharmacy four times over the course of the morning and afternoon. Each time over 15 minutes on hold. I even held the line through the 30 min lunch break. Still. No answer. Finally, I go in person and the pharmacy is closed early. This is the second time this pharmacy is closed without notice and my scripts are essentially stuck in their system. A understanding store associate told me to call the 24hr store on 137th Ave and have them transfer the scripts internally. They too don't answer the phones!!!! I had to DRIVE TO THE URGENT CARE and have them cancel the scripts and resend them to another pharmacy. When they filled them, they informed me that Walgreens had already filled them so my insurance would not pay twice. I ended up paying cash price for my sick child because of the sheer incompetence of this store. A simple phone call could have resolved this issue. Someone answering the multiple calls could have resolved this whole issue. A message saying, "We're sorry, the pharmacy department is closed at 3pm due to an emergency" would suffice. I understand that staffing is an issue nowadays, as I work in this industry, but not excusable for NO ONE to answer a single call or message over the course of four hours. This all could have been avoided by answering a simple phone call. If the department can't answer a call because they are so overwhelmed by the volume of work, call corporate or the Board of Pharmacy. Clearly, I'm not the only person complaining about this issue...
Read moreMy name is Carla Mendoza, I'm not used to doing this kind of thing but it seems to me that this pharmacy is already too disrespectful. I've been trying to pick up some prenatals (vitamins) for a month and it's always a problem and a push and a disorganization today they tell you one thing tomorrow another it's horrible until unitedhealthcare and my doctor has called the pharmacy and they tell them that everything is fine and when I go to pick it up, it's the same problem as if the insurance doesn't cover them or if the doctor has to send the prescription.... in short, I'm embarrassed to call the insurance and the doctor because of Walwreens, so according to the pharmacists, I They tell me that neither the insurance nor my doctor has called the pharmacy when I have spent hours in a triway with the three of them. Honestly, I feel super bad that today there are people as inconclusive and as unprofessional as they are and disrespectful because they ignored me and I've already seen that I'm not the only person who has had the same thing happen to them with that pharmacy, there...
Read moreWalgreens in 20340 in Old Cutler Road is a great example of customer services means. When I changed locations I did it because a friend of mine told me about this pharmacy employees treatments. Pharmacists are amazing specially one with large blonde hair. She is so nice that you can forget about the malaise you are encountering. I know her name lYoandra if I recall well. Sometimes she looks like a pulpo with 8 hands attending from the store vaccines or drive thru. Amazing pharmacist. Magda is another girl from the store cashier. She got to be an angel reminding people about the flu shot in so sweet and kind manner that she gave me goosebumps. Thank you Walgreens for having people like them. My mind changed since I began seeing them...
