The store does not maintain a return policy. I find that owners who don’t have return policies don’t really care about cultivating a long-term customer relationship. It basically says "Who cares if you’re dissatisfied with the purchase, we got your money." As a result, I won't shop there again, I'm sharing my dissatisfaction so others will avoid buyer's remorse, and will dissuade my acquaintances from doing more than browsing. Also suggest reading the other low star reviews and the owner’s thoughtless responses and excuses when responding to customer experiences. Just reinforces my experience and belief that customer care is not an important shopping experience in this store. I also did some digging into the items sold: Products are obscenely marked up and I imagine the owner/employees are aggressive of phone use b/c many items can be found on sites like Etsy and Amazon for much less and with return policies. The store does manage to post up many signs informing customers not to take pictures but no signs about no refunds. The receipt (after purchase) is the first and only notification to the customer and the font is incredibly small and illegible. Not a small business to support in that area. In response to owner (see below 3/14/23): Your response is condescending and fraudulent. Your receipt says “All Sales Final/ No Returns” (see photo of store receipt below). Perhaps after my complaint you decided to update the receipt notification. It seems you only respond and offer “solutions” after complaints are publicly posted and your use of the term “always” is questionably fluid. In the store, I spoke with two of your “just making a living” employees, neither provided any offer of exchange, and one made it very clear by pointing to the minuscule font at the base of the receipt that all sales were final and no more. Nor did either of them provide me any owner contact information since you are (rather ineffectively) the only one connected to these stores who is apparently empowered to address customer concerns. In my 30+ years as a shopper, I’ve been to plenty of boutiques and independent shops who offer return/refund policies (usually a shorter 10-14 days) for the very reason to compete with larger companies and cultivate long-term customer relationships. Your store does not, which is a reflection of your business practices. As for your belated offer to refund (again seems more customer conscious to simply provide these practices before complaints are posted), I’ll reach out but I won’t agree to remove or alter my post if those are the strings you think to attach. Response to owner (3/15/23): Wow, you really are reprehensible in your dealings with customers. Any attempt to “make things whole” is a mere shadow to your need to justify your lapse in return policies, which you finally seem to be writing during each response and update to this review. Yes, I purchased novelty flavored sugar cubes as a possible extension gift for someone but determined she would be happier with another gift. Yes, they were excessively over-priced, like many items in your store, but I had changed my mind, like people do, and returned to the store. Nothing nefarious or entitled, not trying to return your sugar cubes so I can buy someone else’s sugar cubes, just went in for a simple return for something that didn’t meet my needs, which apparently is unacceptable in your unreasoned and grasping mind- not a good trait in a store owner by the way. And again you make false statements regarding return policies of consumables b/c again those returns are often accepted in independently owned shops, including other shops in the bishop arts district. Again just a reflection of your practices. You are not some kind of victimized store owner, but more of a used car salesman or pyramid schemer. And yes, this posting will stay b/c inevitably more ppl will read this and add their own strange and disappointing interactions/observations after visiting your store. Useful Funny Cool

I try to support small, local businesses every chance that I get, but this shop was a huge disappointment. From the sign on the front door saying No Photography allowed, to sales people following you around, this was a very unpleasant experience. Offerings weren't anything that I wouldn't see at the Dallas Market (and they are happy to allow photography!) so I am not sure why they are so protective of their merchandise. As much as I would love to support a store like this, there are better places in Bishop Arts to shop where they will appreciate your business.

Justin was amazing! Stopped in to just look while in a friend's 40th staycation. Justin styled each of us and pulled pieces suited best for our body types. He was never pushy, just excited about fun fashion, and interested in educating us on what looked best. He even pulled out the rosé for us. What a fun impromptu morning shopping with the girls! Plenty of other fun items in the shop, too.

I would give it zero stars if I could. First of all, the staff is VERY rude. I went in there and the lady with the short curly hair was right on my tail. She brought me back to the clothes and explained everything about one article of clothing that I wasn't interested in, and I simply told her it wasn't my style. She then makes a crucial remark saying, "Well, I'm looking at what you're wearing and your in an oversized shirt and shorts". Let me me inform you that it was 100 degrees outside! I told her what my style was and she showed me a dress that was $83, and I told her nicely that I can't spend that much on a dress, and then she showed me a shirt and said, "this shirt is $32 which is more in your price range". She didn't even know my price range. Also, my friend was in there with me and was smelling the lotion. There was this one she was interested in and IT WAS OPENED AND IN THE FRONT OF THE INVENTORY OF IT, so she tried it to see if it was an oily lotion, and it was. The man in there went up to her and said, "Since you're not going to buy anything, why don't you start with that lotion that you have on your hands because it wasn't a "try me"'. WHO IS GOING TO BUY LOTION WHEN THEY DON'T KNOW THE TEXTURE OR SMELL IT WILL GIVE OFF ON YOUR HANDS?! EXPECIALLY AT THE PRICE THEY HAVE IT AT!! THE PUMP OF THE BOTTLE WAS UP!!! THEY ARE THE WORST PEOPLE WHO COULD EVER RUN A STORE!!! I'm never one to write a review if something goes wrong, but this was an...

The shop is cute and has nice finds but there is a woman with black hair who is prejudice. I picked up a small dog toy and was walking around with it in my hand, for all to see, and she asked “Are you going to buy that?” I said yes, to which she replied “then maybe you can leave it on the counter until you’re ready”. Meanwhile the group of white women wearing FAKE designer bags had all types of little things in their hand and weren’t asked to leave them anywhere. Baring in mind, I was wearing a TRANSPARENT bag and as a visitor from Manhattan, wouldn’t even THINK to steal a little dog toy🙄 Like are you serious? A $20 toy?? Because you see black skin you assume the worst? Sad & ignorant, if only she knew !😒

I hate to admit I bought the toy, if it wasn’t for it being a gift, I would’ve walked out then & there!

The gentleman with the glasses was pleasant, I even heard him giving advice to some other travelers. I hope...
