Beautiful modern-boho vibes at this local American restaurant serving up a variety of brunch favorites and excellent coffee.
Vibe: The restaurant is spacious with high ceilings and tastefully decorated. It's a great space to have brunch and meet up with friends. There's also a cool seating/lounge area and bar.
Service: Servers were great and fast, gave us some good info on the menu and recommendations.
Food. We ordered the pink lady sandwich, salmon benedict, cowboy benedict, and ham and gruyere croffle. The croffle is essentially a croissant that has been pressed into a Waffle so you get the nice layered crunch of a croissant with the fluff and shape of a Waffle. The ham was tender, juicy, and savory and complemented well with the microgreens and melty gruyere cheese. There was also some sort of white sauce thing going on that was super good and brought everything together. The sunny side up egg on top was cooked to perfection, and the runny yolk coated the whole croffle nicely. Both benedict dishes had superbly cooked eggs and well executed hollandaise sauce, exactly what you look for. Bacon on the cowboy was smoked and flavorful, the Avocado was fresh. Smoked salmon on the salmon benedict held its own against the egg and hollandaise. Pink sandwich was solid, but we preferred the other dishes. All the ingredients were great quality and portions are large.
Drinks: We ordered the cold brew coffee, iced matcha latte, and latte. The cold brew was very smooth, full bodied, chocolaty, and not very bitter as you would want in a cold brew. They use locally roasted beans from Tweed! The hot latte was also great. The iced matcha latte was fine, nothing special.
Overall, the Nest Craft is a fantastic local spot to get great coffee and brunch, and we definitely recommend you give it a try! This place is Let's Eat Houston...
Read moreI really wanted to support this business as I saw it from the day it opened, the struggles of a new business- being a business owner myself, and even discussed this with a manager as I went there daily for my coffee. However, I noticed that staff changed quite often, and they ended up hiring a bunch of young girls who seemed not to know what they are doing, or as if they were not happy to be working. Last week, I walked in and totally got ignored while she finished whatever she was doing for 7 minutes or so while not even saying a simple hi. Of course I left after waiting about 10 minutes to even be acknowledged. Like many of my colleagues who also work near this restaurant, it is convenient to us.
Today, I reluctantly decide to give them another chance. I walk in, the girl, Justice does not acknowledge me, until she is done with the computer for another 4 minutes or so. Then she looks at me and asks me, “are you here to settle the bill”? I say, no, I’m here to get coffee. I order a basic americano coffee. I ask her if she could use hazelnut creamer-to my surprise, I see that $1 has been added to my already expensive basic coffee of $4. I ask why I am being charged extra $1 for hazelnut creamer and she just responds that “it’s a flavor”. Well, I go with it. It has been now 10 minutes since I walk in that my order is being taken. She then takes another 8 minutes before starting to work on my coffee. She puts it in front of me and I find out that it is barely warm! So 20 minutes now of my time, on a basic coffee.
Well, long story short, I wont be going back. I think management should know why we are avoiding this place, and why they are not doing well. They will shut down if nothing drastic is done here. In the meantime, I will take my business elsewhere. The food is not great either, so nothing...
Read moreVisited here for Sunday Brunch for the first time. A group of 6 and sat outside. I absolutely loved the Outdoor sitting area with minimal noise as the inside was too loud.
As a google Reviewer I obviously check them out prior to arrival. I was excited to try them out and loved their Menu options, sounded promising.
Sadly our experience quickly went downhill. To start we weren’t offered utensils🍴 Ordered an appetizer and it never made it before the food. One of our friends ordered an appetizer and was missing an ingredient. ours never made it to the table on time but she tried bringing it to us when we were getting ready to pay our checks. The coffee ☕️ was bad… really disappointed (drip coffee) We kept having to remind our waitress of missing drinks. Martini/Iced tea 🍸 🫖 🧊
Our food came in apart from each other in very odd time windows.
one of our friends ordered the Açaí bowl and asked for granola. When it arrived the açaí was melted so most likely it was just sitting there for a good while and with no granola. 1 Another friend ordered the steak and eggs and a pancake 🥩 🍳 🥞 … got the pancake but never the meal.
Again., we were aware that it was Mother’s Day and they were busy but not that busy - there were several empty tables inside. And we gave ith the benefit of the doubt but as our time there went by it kept getting worse.
Items coming in late, having to remind our waitress of peoples drinks and orders and didn’t even were offered an apology.
The location and menu are a 5 star for sure but not sure I’ll ever wanna spend a buck there with this kind of service.
If anything I’ll risk it for a lunch...
