Lucchese Bootmaker at the Thompson Hotel — Local services in Dallas

You should stay away from this store and get your boots some place else!! They have no concept of customer service. On April 21st, ahead of a very compressed business trip to Dallas, I contacted the Lucchese store at the Thompson Hotel to inquire what it would take to order a custom pair of boots. A very nice gentleman explained that if, design wise, it was not too complicated the store could handle it easily and would take a small amount of time. All they had to do was measure my feet. This was perfect; I have issues with my feet and just wanted a specific stock item made to fit. I visited the store on April 24th and talked to a gentleman named David. He seemed more interested in selling stock items than meeting my needs. He told me how expensive the mold making process would be and had me try two different in stock boots. I left the store without boots and feeling puzzled. I called Lucchese’s Customer Service on April 25th to explain what had happened. A very nice lady explained that all the sales clerk had to do was measure my feet, send the measurements to the factory and they would quote me a price. A friend in Dallas told me the same. I went back to the store on April 25th and had the unfortunate luck of dealing with David again. He took and wrote my measurements on a green pad of paper. I had to offer my phone number as he did not ask for contact information other than my email address. He did not give me an order form but assured me that he had what he needed and would have a price for me within the week. On May 6th I called the store to inquire about the price quote. I was put through to a lady that claimed to be the store manager, David was not available, she promised to investigate this and get back to me. I recently had the pleasure of visiting Lucchese to purchase a pair of boots for my birthday, and I must say that it was an exceptional experience from start to finish.

From the moment I walked into the store with my daughter, we were greeted with a warm and welcoming atmosphere that immediately put us at ease. The saleswoman, Maria, went above and beyond to ensure our comfort by offering my daughter popcorn and a refreshing water infused with strawberries. Her thoughtful gestures made our visit all the more enjoyable.

She dedicated a significant amount of time and effort to help me find the perfect pair of boots. Overall, my first time at Lucchese was nothing short of amazing. The brand is familiar, and the setting is swanky, located within an upscale Dallas hotel filled with beautiful people (or at least those who aspire to be). The service was excellent, with staff members who were knowledgeable and friendly, offering constant reassurances that could have been either genuine or simply designed to close a sale. The products themselves are undeniably pretty and appear to be well-made.

However, we were disappointed to discover that some of the boots were not manufactured in the United States, especially considering the price point. While the designs are aesthetically pleasing, they bear a striking resemblance to those offered by competitors, yet the prices can sometimes be more than double.

We cannot comment on the long-term durability of the products, but a casual test revealed no significant differences in comfort or workmanship compared to other brands.

Ultimately, while the experience is pleasant and the products are attractive, the high prices and the lack of a clear differentiator make it difficult to justify choosing this brand over its competitors.
