I recently bought some black Columbia shorts for my husband. I brought the shorts in with the receipt. I was unaware he had taken the tags off. I got my exchange and got in line . She told me she could not return these. The shorts were never wore. She notified me that the policy was that they had to have tags and then said they were dirty. She said it very rudely and loud I told her they were not dirty they were brand new. He simply tried them on and took them right off. This is how we bought them from the store. I asked if I brought the tags in from my house if I could then return them. She then told me the tags have to be attached and said they were dirty . She said I understand they are black and everything shows up. She proceeded to shove them across the counter and tell me I'm not exchanging these. I felt very assaulted/ embarrassed after she kept calling them dirty when they were clearly not . She could have simply told me the tags had to be attached. I don't understand how this store allows this. I don't know how she is a manager and gets away with treating customers the way she does . I would have been fine if I was told the tags had to be attached with a softer tone but she was loud and rude. Talking to people this isn't the first incident that she has treated...
Read moreReally enjoy coastal outfitters stock and brands. My biggest complaint is the return and refund policy. On two occassions, I had defective items and the store blamed the customer, refused exchange. I swiftly sent products to afteco, they said it was a defect in craftsmanship on both items, seperate times, replaced items immediately at no cost to me and apologized for the defects. The owner/manager was rude and would not even attempt to examine the product farther to see if it was defective, automatically stated it looked ripped from seam from a 4 foot distance. Blaming the customer for material/sowing defects, is NOT a good way to keep customers. Never the less, I've given the store another try in hopes that this is a fluke experience with the store. Most of the times, the products are in excellent condition. I just know they will not uphold the brand, and the brand deserves to be upheld. It's great to be able to enter the store and buy when needed, but very simple to order and purchase these same products online or elsewhere. Read moreMy husband and I were in Coastal Outfitters on our way out of town today. We found something for our daughter and decided to purchase it. It was on a sale rack and was sandwiched in between two different items that were on sale. Apparently this item was not on sale. When we went to check out the saleswoman asked if we had seen similar items that were on sale. I told her that I thought this was on sale and she told me it was not. She and I walked over to the rack that this item was on and she showed me a jacket that had a sale sticker on it and showed me that the item that I had did not. I told her that it was on a rack with a sign stating that items were 25% off and she informed me that the sign was for another brand. It was extremely misleading to have the item we picked out on a rack with two other types of items that were on sale and our item was not. She did not offer to honor the discount even, though their signage was misleading. I was disappointed in their customer service and will not return if I am here with him on on...
