I wanted a late night sandwich after the 90' and I decided on a Gyro at the Mediterranean sandwich company on Dauphin street. I ordered my food and specifically asked that it be carved off the spit. The employees took my money and said okay but as I watched them make the order. They used meat that was not from the spit as I requested. The cashier proceeded to tell me that the meat in the container was fresh. I then told him that I don't want to argue. I didn't receive my food because I refused to take it and told either make a sandwich from the spit or give me my money back. They said that they would not give me my money back and that I had to take the sandwich or they would have me removed for Trespassing.. Now I know as a paying customer you can't be charged with trespassing when you are a customer and paid for food you didn't receive.. So the employees walked out to get a Mobile Police Officers J Corley, and officer E blakley to removed me from the Mediterranean sandwich company on 274 dauphin street for trespassing because I refused take food that was not fresh off the spit and I paid for it. After I was removed from the restaurant, I asked the officers to give me the first and last names of the employees so that I can file a complaint. Officer blakley only gave me the first name and told me to contact the employer to find out the last names when I asked him to return to get the last names . I was told to leave or get arrested... Now I don't know how a person can get arrested for refusing food that I know was not fresh and threaten jail when there was no legal right over a sandwich.. I will not be eating at this establishment again and hope that anyone else will not either. I think that it is principal that you get what you paid for without any excuses. Just as the Mediterranean sandwich company has rights to refuse a customer service for asking to make a Gyro the right way. I have the right to let customers beware of meat that is not cut from the spit.. If you think about it other countries don't store or cut meat until it is ordered. You don't know how long it's been cut fresh before you get it. And as for the Mobile Police officers, learn the law before you try to enforce rules that you clearly don't understand...Officer Blakely and Officer Corley, I am disappointed in your lack of knowledge of basic laws if the city of Mobile and the State of Alabama that over a $9 sandwich as you said wasn't worth going to jail.. You are right that it was not worthy of going to jail because when you are ignorant to the law. Friends and family I don't usually post at all but know your rights and the worth of your dollar. Just don't use it at any of the Mediterranean sandwich company in...
Read moreVery horrible take out experience . I took my cousin who is suffering with major loss of a brother , she hasn’t eaten in days and could only stomach Mediterranean food , since it is her favorite place to eat , I’ve been here multiple times and had great experiences .although today , there were three African Americans working and were very disrespectful , making fun of her appearance and being loud and vulgar , whispering and cackling about her appearance, when it was hard enough to even get her out of bed . There were two girls one heavy set and one smaller. The guy was also horse playing as well and that is very unprofessional .. we also wasn’t even greeted when approaching . We Spend a lot of money and come frequently but after this experience I will no longer be spending my hard earned money here at this place if this behavior is found to...
Read moreI chose this restaurant because my husband tries to watch his diet (way more than I do). Knowing how he loves Mediterranean food, I thought this would be a great place for him. For me, Mediterranean food is not one of my top food choices, so I wasn't super excited about going here. HOWEVER, the second we walked through the door, we were greeted with the most delicious smells. I began changing my mind at that moment. Then, the guy taking our order, William, was super friendly and helpful! I had a Chicken Philly Pita with a side of Bacon Carbonara Orzo Pasta. My husband had a Chicken Shawarma Pita with Spinach-Tomato Orzo Pasta. Both were delicious!! I had never tried Orzo before, so William decribed it as tasting like mac 'n cheese with bacon. That is EXACTLY what mine tasted like! Excellent experience here with pleasant staff and...
