Fourth time visiting in the past two months, it had been hit or miss but the latest and likely last experience was unforgivable.
One occasion was brilliant, decent food, great selection of drinks and a lively atmosphere especially given it was the night of the NBA finals. Service was perfect
Second occasion was a birthday party for 10 family and friends celebrating. I requested water the entire evening, as I was the designated driver and I was told "I'll be right back with it!" Not once but twice. Neither came to fruition, I don't know why it happened but it did and it was off-putting.
Third occasion was amazing, we had the best service, impeccable charm by our waiter and care shown for our children as their requests for more soda were met with inquiries directed towards us as parents. It's nuanced but very much appreciated. Great dinner, we were very pleased that one of our favorite establishments redeemed itself.
Finally, our latest visit was on a very slow Sunday afternoon. We were booking a movie and checking seat availability prior to being seated. We allowed a family to go ahead of us as most movies were sold out (new Despicable Me) and couldn't decide if we would eat first or after. The hostess became irate, there was literally nobody waiting, we were sitting off to the side... Not bothering anyone. She yelled over "y'all gonna eat here or not", my wife jumped up and apologized explaining the situation... We decided to eat and try another theatre after as we now felt like we were causing a problem. She sucked her lip when we both apologized and muttered "whatever". Then another host came and she demanded he seat us and whispered something to him, his look told it all... She said something rude. He said, "I'm not doing that, you do it". We were then seated at a booth, and waited 48 minutes... Not one person acknowledged our existence. We aren't confrontational and always try to be a gracious guest, this was not on us at all. They purposely ignored us and mistreated us as customers. I pressed the button on the device at the table requesting service thinking perhaps it was an oversight between a shift change or something along those lines... One hour and twenty minutes from receiving the text for our movie tickets and we were still holding menus. Ultimately, deciding to leave. My children shouldn't have to feel this sort of rejection from a restaurant of all places. It was ugly and deliberately done. We left without saying a word to anyone, but as I type this now, I wish I did. We'll never allow your establishment to mistreat us again. Hopefully you never experience the same...
Read moreUnfortunately, this is a visit that won’t be repeated again for a very tasty and delicious restaurant that we love, all because of a bad service from a rude server called Emilia E.
We got there, we knew what we wanted from appetizers and mains and we placed our order right away! After a while we called Emilia and asked if the Ac was on, she laughed “Mockingly” and said yes! So we asked for wipes cz we were sweating which it didn’t make her very happy.
We waited for the food for more than 20 minutes , and we usually don’t mind waiting, until she brought the appetizers and the main course all together; THERE’S A REASON WHY IT’S CALLED APPETIZERS AND MAINS that apparently she’s not aware of.
The irony is that our order came out missing our fries. After a while when We could take a hold on her, she came asking if there is anything we need NOT KNOWING WHAT IS MISSING FROM THE ORDER…! So we informed her the fries were missing. She LITERALLY GAVE US AN ATTITUDE LOOK!!!!
“ WHAT’S THE POINT OF HAVING FRIES WITH NO KETCHUP???”
Not to forget, she got us appetizer plates that I Even COULDN’T cut my own pizza in it!
Last but not least the manager comes in asking for the problem and offered us some gift cards for next visit. In Which it was VERY KIND AND GENEROUS OF HIM,
Unfortunately, Due to EMILIA’S service, I will not step foot in the Yard House, DEDHAM for as long as she works there.
I FEEL BAD FOR A PLACE THAT HAS GOOD FOOD TO LOSE LOYAL AND REGULAR CUSTOMERS JUST BECAUSE OF THE BAD SERVICE AND THE TEMPER OF A RUDE SERVER.
Emilia E: You Missed on a Huge tip from people who know the struggle of a waitress but wouldn’t tolerate disrespect. That’s why your tip of the day was $0.01. Thank you for...
Read moreI had some time to kill before my doctors appointment so I thought I’d stop and sit for some lunch on a Thursday afternoon.
Yard house was open so I decided to step in. Was greeted by the hostess and taken to my seat. The hostess could have been a little more welcoming but her smile I guess was good enough.
My server was Neil who knew the menu quite well and explained everything is made to order. He even informs me the Tahiti pork chops weren’t available to order that day.
With an appreciation for his attention to detail I began to glance over a menu of mouth watering choices.
The appetizers had everything from dips, sliders, salads, wings, pretzels and more
I grabbed a house salad with vinaigrette from the apps
And the 8oz filet w/ mashed taters for my entree.
The salad tasted delightful and the steak (medium rare) was cooked to perfection. Coupled with the mashed potatoes, asparagus & carrots and house made steak sauce this meal was 5 stars all around.
The strawberry lemonade was warm and not that tasty but it was refreshing at the same time.
My only problem with my experience was the bill! The menu claimed a house salad was 3.99 when ordered with the steak meal. Well I ordered steak meal and was charged full price for my salad.
It was a delicious meal so I didn’t complain just paid left a tip and left.
Yard house is definitely a spot to go to for vittles, cocktails, and...
