Salon Capri — Local services in Dedham

I booked my first appointment and my last at Salon Capri. I schedule a single process color, cut and blow dry. My total should have been $186+tip. After talking candidly with the stylist about my color, she said we could do also add some foils. Great I said. NOT a single word that this would mean MORE THAN DOUBLING my cost. $412 (including a $50 gloss which I was not asked about) to be exact. Not a word until I was checking out and clearly blindsided. When I questioned it, asked for someone to explain how that’s possible, there were no offers to amend the total. They just said “well, you agreed.” I don’t understand what about the salon business people think that this is acceptable. When you make an appointment of any kind, and that changes, always, always GOOD businesses will tell you the difference or add-ons in cost. Nail salons do that. Blow dry salons clearly spell this out. And after looking up reviews, I see that this practice goes back 11+ years. This is a sales pitch tactic and it’s highway robbery! WHY on earth is this acceptable? You lost a repeat customer today due to poor business decisions and service. ...

I love Salon Capri! Both locations Lincoln Street and Dedham, MA are excellent. They continue to keep the salon updated and fashionable. I started going to Salon Capri when they were located in Hyde Park, MA. Nick Pena Sr.( owner) cut my hair and his daughter Laura colored it. As the years went on I moved into Boston and tried another salon closer to where I lived but I ended up going back when my hair started looking unhealthy. In one session with Gina Pena my hair started feeling and looking better again. After only 3 months my hair was so healthy and shined like it use too when Salon Capri took care of me. They use the latest new color products that will transform you hair from dull, lifeless to healthy and bouncy! I had thinning hair and within the first 8 months it looked and felt thicker because of Gina's work. Amazing colors and a cut I can only get here....others have tried but I always will stick with Gina. I am a 59 year old mans man. I grew up with beautiful dark Auburn hair. Believe it a not my hair one was of my greatest attributes. But unfortunately red heads loose color faster than most. Me included. However a tough color to match. I had an appointment Saturday with a young beautiful woman inside and out with a colorist Named Katlin. .Being a first time customer Katlin could not have been more patient with me working my color three times until I was completely happy with little concern for her next client but my happiness. I left Salon Capri. Ecstatic and over joyed because of Katlin’s dedication and commitment to making me happy. Katlin is a beautiful woman and rockstar colorist. Thank you Gina for such a wonderful hire and salon. By the way, you are an incredible our interpreter. I’m sure your husband is looking down from heaven and couldn’t be any prior idea.
