Two stars for cleanliness and how meticulous some of the employees are with your nails. Would give less than 1 star for customer service and consistency, as every time I have been in, there’s been a flaw with one or the other. The first time, there’s was a promotion going on for a brow wax or something for new customers; the customers next to me were offered this but I was not, though the employee checking me out knew I was new there. The second time in, I booked the same pedicure service at a different location and had a completely different service given to me. The employees were incredibly rude and told me “this is how we do it here, I don’t know what they call the services at other locations”. ( they ended up giving me nothing but a color refresh). I didn’t get the service I requested at all( and was told they couldn’t give me the service because my nail tech had to leave by 5 ). After this, I contacted the company and they offered me a free manicure. So I gave it a third try, booked a mani and pedi and did an extended service for a 15 min massage . The mani and pedi were both fine, though I left with lots of dry cracked skin around my nails, but when the girl at the front asked me to check out, I told her I had booked a massage too. She told me that should have been done during my manicure, and “honestly sometimes they just forget to do it, or how it’s listed in our system it’s hard to see add on services”. Read moreI frequently go to the Miniluxe in Hingham so I was hopeful this would be a mirrored experience. I booked the same pedicure I always get at the Hingham location (Ultimate). This pedicure includes oil behind the neck which is usually nicely massaged into the skin and it was not. I got the “eye treatment” which was just jelly eye masks…? In which I was just told “you can take them off whenever”. I wish I knew ahead of time it was literally just jelly eye masks because I wouldn’t have done this add on. The water temperatures were either cold or scalding hot and the warm “towels” were face cloths and did not wrap around my legs. The massage was also lack luster. The salt/sugar scrub was not used on my legs and there was very minimal to no massage on my legs. For the “best” pedicure on their service menu it felt less than basic. My expectations were that my experience would be the same in the Dedham location as the Hingham location and it just sadly wasn’t. I will say the GM was extremely kind, though! Read moreI have patroned MiniLux a few times and have been happy with my services. Today's work was not as satisfying. Although my nail shape and the color were good, the length of my nail were the issue because they were all cut unequally, and this became more noticeable once the color was placed. As I began to question the length of my toe nails, I felt very uncomfortable because my comment was not received well. This was a bit disturbing, and I couldn't understand how the nail technician was not able to shorten my nails all the same length as the nails were grown out beyond my toes. Because prices have doubled for a mani and a pedi's, I would also hope that the quality of these services remains exceptional. Unfortunately, today's spa visit was not. Perhaps it does not matter to some because there's always a flow of customers; as well as constant changes in nail technicians.
