Read moreThought this would have been a good place to grab something to eat and watch a little college football while waiting for flight. Unfortunately, the hostess, who was also the on duty manager, was not courteous at all. She attempted to seat us in the back of the bar as if we weren't worthy of sitting up front. Upon explaining that we need to sit in view of a TV, she made a facial expression as if we were a bother. When we asked to sit at an empty table, she gasped, sat the menus on the table, and threw up her hands like we were once again a bother. Our waitress, who was awesome, was made aware of the ill treatment and redirected us to the manager who happened to be the hostess. When asked why she felt it was ok to treat us the way she did, she denied her actions and stated she had Cerebral Palsey. We both are medical professionals, and our knowledge of the symptoms and side effects of someone with this type of diagnosis doesn't carry three to four plates at once with customers' orders on them. Nor would they attempt to clear a table and carry about 10 mostly empty glasses to the kitchen. It's one thing to lie about your mistreatment of paying customers, but to say you have a "disorder" you happy now? that renders a multitude of people helpless is just disrespectful. It's very sad that treating people with respect isn't the norm, I pray the owner speaks with this young lady and get her some ethical training. And I can promise you my level education is high and medical background is vast. As a 25 year Military Veteran I have disabilities, disorders, and diseases that make me aware of all medical prognosis. My phone was charging, I was watching football, and can recap how Clemson lost that game. I wish you the best and hope the actual owner takes light of you and...
Read moreI don’t usually share experiences unless they’re relatively positive, but I just deplaned a lengthy flight and was thrilled to find an open seat at the bar here to kill a few hours and share some drinks with fellow travelers during a 3 hour layover! As soon as I set my purse down, the bartender (who is also apparently the manager) made a boldly loud and accusatory statement in front of a bar full of patrons, stating that he believed I appeared to be too intoxicated and that he was refusing to serve me. I was completely caught off guard because I’ve never heard this accusation in my years of meeting friends at bars in my life! I mean, aside from some jet lag and that I’m probably not bombshell-level attractive without makeup, I was - and am - very well composed. I was simply trying to have a burger and a few beers before my next flight. And not that it mattered, but I hadn’t consumed anything alcoholic in weeks and any potential sign resembling inebriation was undoubtedly exhaustion, confusion, thirst, and the subsequent anxiety and embarrassment that followed the exchange. I even asked to speak to the manager to see if there was some sort of breathalyzer or sobriety test I could’ve entertained the crowd with and earned myself a beer. No luck. I can’t speak to the food or the drinks, but solely based on the energy of said employee, a blatant lack of inclusivity, and the inhospitable way I was treated as a guest of the establishment - I’d say you should walk the extra few steps down to Timberline for a drink and a burger. And they’ll actually smile and be nice to you. No hate or negativity towards anyone involved at all. It was just an experience that I feel deserves to be shared. And NOW I think I’ll order that beer; I’d say I’ve earned it....
