I tried Tapas Sky Bar on 26 Aug 2024 while waiting to depart Denver International Airport (DIA). This bar was conveniently located right by my departure gate, therefore, it was comforting to be able to eat, drink, and be right there to board my flight. This place was nestled right in the middle of several gates so the seclusion wasn't necessarily there, meaning you can easily see people walking past you while you're trying to relax...but it wasn't unbearable either. I don't normally visit airport pubs or bars because I'm not one of those that must have a drink before I fly; or, one of those that enjoy having frequent adult beverages. I did, however, visit because I arrived tremendously early to my flight and I was hungry/thirsty due to it being around that dinner time frame. When I walked up to the bar, there were several menus conveniently laying around which enabled me to see if this place had my interest. I saw a few food items that sounded good, including a couple of beers on tap that sounded and looked (the beer label) intriguing, so I obviously opted to just eat and drink here (as mentioned earlier). There were two bartenders/servers walking around during my visit; however, the primary server (and food preparer), Ana H., provided the majority of the service and she did a phenomenal job. She was very attentive and ensured my experience here was second to none. I ended up ordering a White Rascal from Avery Brewing Company; the Club Sandwich w/avocado, and one Teriyaki Chicken skewer. I looked up the beer to see where it's from and was shocked to see that the brewery is located in Boulder, Colorado...which was coincidental since that's where I was visiting for the majority of my trip. The beer was refreshing and crisp; the sandwich definitely hit the spot, along with the side of chips. But unfortunately, the chicken skewer didn't do it for me - I felt this item would be better served grilled. There's something to be said about eating chicken skewers that contain fresh grill marks with all the smokiness contained within the chicken. As with all stores and restaurants within an airport, the prices are significantly higher than most businesses outside of the airport perimeter, so I won't elaborate much in this area. I will mention that although the prices were higher, it still doesn't break the bank to eat/drink here. I would venture to say that if you're penny-pinching or just want a cheaper option in general, I would recommend eating and drinking (don't drink and drive) prior to arriving at DIA. On the other hand, for those looking to unwind before finally hopping on your delayed flight (seems to be normal operations for Southwest flights out of DIA)...or if you're like me and you arrive at the airport tremendously early, then the location of Tapas Sky Bar is conveniently located at the C gates. Highly recommend to those adventurous travelers that require sustenance.

My order was unfulfilled and not refunded. I ordered dinner Sunday at 7:55pm by scanning the QR code prominently posted at the bar. The website alerted me "the kitchen will be closing soon." After ordering, an employee walked out from behind the bar asking who was "trying to place an order online." I didn't try. I did. He informed me the kitchen was closed because the system was down. I asked him to cancel and refund my order. He said he could not, but wrote down my name and phone number and promised to call the next day with his plan to refund me. It has been four days; he has not called. My repeated calls go unanswered. He never once apologized. If the kitchen is down, the bar should modify the website to prohibit food orders and/or take down the signs instructing customers to order online. He claimed his name was Liam.

The staff was very friendly and the bartender gave some great recommendations. The martini that I ended up choosing was the Irish Breakfast and it was amazing! I ended up getting a bowl of chili which you're always kind of leary about getting, especially at an airport. However, it was fresh, delicious and it was a large portion size. It also came with a side of whole grain tortilla chips. I didn't regret the selection. The prices were reasonable and in line with comparable restaurants and for being in an airport I was very pleased with those prices. Overall, a great experience and I would highly recommend this place if you have time during layovers or before your flight.

So this bartender was the rudest person I have ever met. I ordered a drink paid with a cc didn’t leave a tip as I knew I would be ordering a second drink a few minutes later, I ordered a new drink and he tried to help someone else before me but the other customer said that I was next (didn’t think nothing of it) he was then being rude got me a drink then cashed me out. I signed the receipt and as I always do I don’t leave tip on cc I leave tip by cash I Literally had my fingers on cash to give him a tip he’s like “ thanks a lot that’s the second time” Yelling at me because I didn’t tip him, he walked a way (I was dumb founded at how he was acting) while the other customers looking at me when my fingers were on his tip as I was going to give him. well sorry guy you were so upset!! I was going to give you a tip but after the way you treated me forget it, by the way i always...
