I came in to try the place out bc the chef told me to come next door to try it out when they open. When I came in the cashier was nice, I asked for a butcher bowl bc it said on the menu I could request it. The chef automatically seemed bothered by it said that it would take 15 minutes to get it done.. the cashier said that it would actually be just 5 minutes which makes sense bc they just had to put it in a container. I said it was fine I’ll come back bc the chef seemed like he was upset or frustrated with my order.. so I went to get coffee and shopped around a little and my food still wasn’t ready???it was almost 20 minutes later and the cashier had to request it again and he even seemed like he knew the chef was being rude that he even told him something about it.I still waited and everyone was getting their food before I was.. the cashier had to ask him like 2 or 3 times to get my order. Stopped in for a breakfast burrito. The meat of the day was chorizo, which blended into the burrito without overpowering the green chile, eggs, and hash. House hot sauce was an arbol base with a surprising amount of spiciness. It's worth getting a breakfast burrito if only as a vehicle for enjoying the hot sauce. Definitely the highlight of the meal.

We were so impressed with breakfast, we almost stayed an extra 45 minutes to wait for the crossover to their lunch menu. Instead, I settled for grabbing a few pieces of their house jerky.

Staff were quite friendly, offering insight to the food and joking with me. They seemed to be having a good time, always a good sign.

This place is incredible. Typically you go to a sandwich shop and they make one type of sandwich really well - well at Blackbelly every sandwich is a hit. The waygu beef is next level. I didn’t know a cheesesteak could taste so premium. My wife said the Cuban sandwich was the best one she ever had! You can taste the care and expertise in every sandwich. Each sandwich is artfully crafted with amazing intention. The quality of the meat is really special, all a representation of the amazing butcher Kelly.
