It really hurts me to be leaving a 1 star review for this studio as it really was a great place to me over the last year but lately the professionalism and quality of services has drastically gone down and I'd like others to be aware of some of these things when looking for their new wellness home.
When they switched to using Arketa as their app there were a lot of struggles and the ease of signing up for classes, etc. became much more cumbersome and difficult. There were a few instances where I received an email about a class not being held or cancelled and an apology because it was not reflected on the Arketa app. They have also changed instructors quite a bit lately and not all of them are as amazing as when I first signed up.
The cancellation policy and fees associated (5 hours before class or you are changed a late cancellation fee), while I completely understand it and don't believe this is a fault of the studio at all, is just very challenging for me as I work in a hospital and there are some days where I am unable to leave work due to an emergency or crisis, so my form of self-care ends up being more stressful and lacks flexibility.
Lastly, the transparency with the membership and cancellation policies surrounding this were very minimized in my opinion. When switching over to the Arketa app, it was a challenge to continue my membership as my billing didn't transfer over, and now when I went to cancel my membership I was informed of a 30 day notice required and was charged for another month of my membership prior to cancellation. I simply asked for a copy of my membership agreement that I signed so I could see where I missed that/pay attention in the future (note: I did not ask for this to be waived at all, I simply wanted to understand), and was met with a pretty blunt response and told that the charges and fees had been emailed "in newsletters that I am subscribed to," but that there is no membership contract. I think the communication and professionalism of the studio could be dramatically improved in this, as I have been a very loyal member for at least a year now and only cancelled because I am leaving the country for a family emergency/lack of flexibility in the membership.
I used to recommend this studio to everyone and anyone I talked to, but lately there are definitely better options out there in the metro area and I recommend you search around and due your due diligence before becoming a member with...
Read moreThis studio has probably the most unique class offerings and opportunities of any studio I have encountered. I found the "Skins New Moon Naked Yoga" (women-only) class event by chance while looking for things to do with a friend coming to visit me in Denver. A large group of friends here (both close and still developing) ended up joining. We could not have been happier with the experience! We all left saying we want to come back again as soon as possible. I believe it was $30 per person, and the class is offered once (maybe twice) each month.
The studio space itself is rather unique and pleasant/comforting. The class started with the option of free tea and intro meditation as the instructor talked us through how clothes are typically shed throughout the hour class and she will indicate particular points that might be good moments to shed a layer if we want as she does it herself, but that we are entirely free to go at our own pace and timing and to whatever extent feels best. We all individually became more comfortable with our idea of this as the class progressed together in a very natural and genuine sense of holistic acceptance. I left the class absolutely delighted and without a single suggestion of how it could have been better (a similar consensus among my entire group). A year later, my visiting friend and I remember that as probably the most worthwhile experience we chose to fill that trip with, and it is still one of the most enjoyable and noteworthy memories from college thus far to recall among those friends.
So refreshing! Couldn't recommend the class or the studio as a whole more! I am so appreciative of that space and the women that...
Read moreGenuinely, this is one of the best yoga studios I’ve ever been to.
As a flight attendant, I’ve traveled to many different cities and have tried many studios. Many of them have felt very sterile, and even if the people have been pleasant, I didn’t really have a sense of belonging.
As a curvier woman of color, this is the only studio I’ve ever felt comfortable in. The studio itself is very welcoming, with some plants here and there, a brick backdrop, some art and what smells like palo santo. I always have an overwhelming sense of peace and tranquility upon entering.
Due to COVID and my job, I changed bases to Miami for just over a year. I searched for months to find the “perfect” studio, and was just disappointed time and time again. Eventually, I stopped trying and just subscribed to Glo to practice at home. However, as luck would have it, I was presented with an opportunity to move back to Denver. Picking my yoga practice back up at a studio I loved has been a highlight of my move back.
I can’t recommend this...
