Poor management. Let’s just say, first & last time ever shopping at Boscov’s. Not only have I always preferred Macy’s, but I was treated so poorly here. I came in from the mall entrance originally coming in from Macy’s with a Boscov’s bag with 2 baby outfits from what my mother had purchased earlier that day, along with a polo skirt I had purchased from Marshall’s which tags were still on. I had family pictures in 2 days, and was trying to match outfits for my family. Not only did I not find anything for the pictures, I ended up buying more pajamas for the baby, and a pair of stockings for myself. However, as soon as I started to walk back into the mall from Boscov’s my bag ripped. I turned right back around to go ask for another bag. My boyfriend stood at the mall entrance waiting for me. There was an employee there by the name of Pam. She was in the middle of speaking to a janitorial worker, about something that seemed to be unrelated to work. You could tell she was instantly bothered by me interrupting her conversation, and asking for another bag. We then walk to the cash register she then hands me the bag.. I’m struggling a little bit trying to get the few items into the bag, since I also have a smaller bag of merchandise I had just purchased in my other hand with the receipt in my hand as well. She starts to take my items out of my hands. I thought she was going to help me put my items into the new bag, well I was completely wrong. She then starts trying to accuse me of stealing these items, saying I need to show her receipts for everything. Automatically she says she’s calling the manager, and security. I immediately call my mom to send me the receipt since she didn’t leave it in the bag from earlier, which she did send right away. Not even realizing I had the credit card on me with all of the purchases!! My boyfriend ended up coming back in from the mall entrance because he seen customers were standing around staring at me like a thief while being completely bullied by this employee. He then grabbed my items back from her. My mom wouldn’t let me leave until I got her name. She kept refusing to give me her name until she realized I would not leave. I then started to walk out Boscov’s to the mall to find security to get this situated. I didn’t not want to be looked at as a shoplifter, and wanted this resolved. Whether it was with cameras, my receipts, whatever the case may be. Mall security then told me Boscov’s has their own security. I go back into Boscov’s ask for security which never came, and there was absolutely no resolution. The managers wouldn’t even look at the receipts, and also wouldn’t allow Pam to come back out to discuss what happened. I worked in retail at polo & nothing like this would ever be allowed. I have never been so humiliated in my life! My mother had just spent 1k on perfume for Christmas gifts. I truly wanted her to return all of it after that, but neither one of us will be back after what took place here. I will never forget how horrible they made me feel. I even reached out to corporate about this, and never even received a...
Read moreI used to work at Boscov's when I was a teenager and back then I wanted to be part of the wrapping team during the holidays. Unfortunately they wouldn't let me due to their unknown thoughts about my wrapping skills. I see now that the job was saved just for seniors. However, this particular store didnt choose their seniors wisely. Mildred and Mary talked and talked while working and I usually don't gripe about things like that because it's fun to chat to your customers, but when it hinders your work - as in you frequently stop wrapping gifts, then I'm no longer a happy customer. I waited in line for about 1 hour while a chatty customer had 20 gifts that needed wrapping in separate boxes! There should be a special line for those that want more than 5 gifts wrapped. It was a warm day in December and the store failed to turn down the heat, I nearly passed out from shopping and being dehydrated. Then when I finally get to the counter, Mildred or Mary - I forget which one, did not package and wrap my gifts in the manner she had done for the chatty customer. She hurriedly threw in tissue paper and taped raw edges. The finished product looked nothing like how the other customer's did or how I would have done it. I finally just asked for boxes and decided to wrap my gifts at home. All the while, Mary and Mildred mumbled under their breath (like they were teenagers) about...
Read moreWorst place EVER! Do not buy furniture from here!!! Bought a bedroom set at the end of June it was supposed to be delivered at the end of July, no one called so I called… I was told that my order was never processed because one piece was on back order which no one told us about. Then we were told after going to the store that it was going to be rushed, but after calling today the delivery service said inspection of the furniture is 7-10 business days. My furniture was supposed to be here on 7/30 and now we are sleeping on the floor and my husband has back issues from being in the military for 20 years and boscovs doesn’t care it’s a $4000 sale to them why should they care, they got their money…. Funny part we asked if we could have the floor model so at least we had something and we were told no, we were told our furniture is in Vineland NJ and that is 20 minutes away from our house and it’s going to take 7/10 business days just to get a delivery date for something 20 minutes away! So here’s to 7/10 business days of sleeping on the floor while boscovs white glove delivery service workers and boscov employees sleep in their beds. Just my opinion but I strongly suggest never buying furniture from them.. we had great luck with...
