Mickey's Retreat — Local services in Dr. Phillips

It's a nice place with a decent amount of activities. The "indoor" pavilions are okay but have no air circulation and it felt like we were cooking inside. The pool is nice but I think the water is salt water or they use some tilw chemicals because it smells horrible. The pool area also doesn't have any shade aside from like 2 family tables with umbrellas. The changing bathrooms need lots of love and sanitation. Sticky floors and dirty toilets. My hoa community pool is surprisingly better by miles.

The biggest downside and the real reason I'm knocking 2 stars was because of a cast member who takes their job way too seriously. More often than not this isn't an issue but when she was yelling at people to remind them of rules or to explain rules it came off as rude and off putting, quite embarrassing for everyone involved or even in the pool area. Like she was purposely raising her voice to be heard by Disney himself like a damn drill Sargent. Just not cool and you can clearly tell all the other cast members don't jive with that either because none were as annoying as she was. Tried to use this park to record a one minute video of me using roller skates for an audition tape for theme parks. Couldn’t even wear my skates for more than five minutes before Melissa comes out and tells me only wheels allowed in Disney parks are baby strollers. Felt a little weird considering it’s a cast member recreational area and not a theme park. I started taking my shoes off to imply I took the hint that I was not welcome there and Melissa continues to hang around and wait for my partner and I to gather our things and walks us to our car. Not sure if this is implying we were kicked out, but felt extremely unprofessional and unnecessary as my partner and I was not provoking or instigating any issues. Just simply didn’t know the rules and wasn’t fighting or pushing back. Overall just seemed like she was bored with the four guest there outside of us and wanted to have some excitement with her day/ on a power trip. This is a really good place for a small family or even a 6-8 person gathering. We haven't seen any broken glass or illegal things on the grounds.
