I'm always reluctant to leave a negative review based on just one visit. I can see that the other reviews are mostly positive. I'm guessing we just happened to choose an "off" night.
We visited on Sunday the 9th of July. We visited another Longhorns back in September and loved it, so were keen to fit in a visit this time around.
Service seemed a little disjointed. Our server was clearly flustered, and during service, we saw other people leaving and being offered apologies.
To begin with, our drinks order was wrong. Our server apologised and promised to put it right (which he did eventually). At the point of bringing the (wrong) drinks, he left plates for our appetisers. They were covered in spillage.
When another girl arrived with our appetisers (and sides for our mains), I asked if we could have clean plates. She said she'd get them. They never arrived.
In the end, we chose to carry on without individual plates. The starters were amazing- just like before.
When the mains eventually arrived (along with the corrected drinks order), they were certainly not of the same high standard as before. Much of our food went back uneaten. I had ordered a burger (well done). What arrived had blood pouring out of it. I tried to eat a piece off the edge however, it was completely tasteless and unseasoned.
By now, I understood that things weren't going well for our server. I didn't have the heart to complain. I simply ate the fries.
As I said, I don't like to judge on a single visit however, Longhorns is not an inexpensive place to eat so, based on our experience, if I find myself in the area again I will most likely drive the extra 10 minutes to eat at the...
Read moreI gave it a 5 despite the fact we had a few hiccups but it is understandable, as someone who has been a server, bartender and a nurse I know what it's like to be both the student and the teacher. The lead waitress was lovely and helpful and so was her trainee, which happened to be her brother. They both had wonderful personalities and they sent the manager over to check on us as one of the patrons in our party was going to receive his food around the time we would finish ours. We said no big deal, the manager and wait staff were both surprised and pleased that we said no big deal. Now they gave my husband his mushroom &; Onions & not his steak yet, he was the person waiting for their steak, anyway the funny thing is they forgot to give the mushrooms and onions to the people who had their steak. My brother and his wife were near half done at this point so, we said it's ok nevermind and they took those items off the check. They apologized, we understand things happen. The food still tasted delicious, the service was excellent. I mean Lil bro dropped the ball for a minute but that's okay, mistakes are how we learn. Every time I make a mistake, I always say I won't do that again. I am sure he won't do it again. When people order mushrooms and onions he will remember. It was a great experience. Not everything is always going to go perfect but I will tell you the team at Long Horn is there to make it right (reasonably) I will definitely dine here again, when I'm back in Orlando. Great...
Read moreThe worst Longhorn restaurant we have ever dined at in the US. On November 18, 2023, a good friend and myself stopped by for a late night dinner after the FAMU game to have dinner and cocktails. We sat at the bar and Shaila took our entire order. No problem with Shaila. We ordered the spinach dip appetizer- Wow! It was extremely salty and had very little spinach. The warm bread served was good. We took our entrees to go. My good friend’s dinner was not edible at all (extremely over cooked). We returned the item the next morning, and asked for the manager. The manager Cameron was on duty and offered to exchange the bad entree and my friend agreed and would eat it at the table.
We waited over 25 minutes for a burger and fries! We finally asked what happen to the order? The server returns with a to go order that was sitting on a back table and the entree was now cold. The new server offered dessert coupons on our next visit, but we declined. We asked for Cameron again because he didn’t follow through to ensure everything was satisfactory and had he done so, the order would have been delivered timely and at the proper temperature. The server was not even aware of the order and he should have informed her as well. He was nonchalant about the situation and offered to prepare again and we declined and requested a refund. The overall issue is that this manager needs additional customer service training! There so many good restaurants in Orlando. Now, we know to stay away...
