Rock U is a phenomenal studio! My son started guitar lessons about 3 years ago and we have had a 5 star experience from the beginning. Hannah was his first teacher at Rock University and she was outstanding. I loved how she would work off of the songs he chose to teach him guitar skills, including singing as well. After spending a year playing the acoustic with Hannah, he started taking lessons from Jared to work on his electric guitar skills. Jared is simply the best of the best. He is completely dedicated to his students. He quickly noticed my sons interest in writing music and playing with a band, then began teaching him the ropes of song writing, and has hooked him up with his first band as well. Jared has a genuine interest in his students and it creates an incredible amount of confidence in them. Each year I am amazed at how Jared and his teachers get hundreds of students to sing and play live in front of a huge crowd at RockULive. It is a spectacular event and provides kids with an opportunity unlike any other. I feel so indebted to Jared and Rock University for the incredible experience they have provided to my son. My son Tate has been taking lessons at Rock University for 3 years. We drive 30 minutes to get there each Tuesday, but I’d drive an hour each way in order for him to get the Rock U experience. He has had a few teachers over the years and they all have given him proper direction and freedom to be who he wants to be as an artist. My son’s passion for music has been inspired through his one on one lessons at Rock U. Besides incredible guitar instruction, they offer voice, piano and drum lessons at their Draper studio. It’s a family atmosphere and the positive culture that Jared and staff have created is apparent from the moment you walk in.

They also host a great event each May called Rock U Live where students from all levels (and ages) of the program are able to perform in front of a crowd. It is a top notch experience for all involved and a wonderful opportunity for the students to get some stage time under the bright lights! This is the best studio for expanding your child’s music education. The teachers are fun and engaging and the opportunities for preforming in live shows are one of my favorite things about Rock U. My daughter has been taking lessons here for several years and the growth I have seen in her as a musician and performer is nothing short of amazing. When she first started taking lessons with Jared she would not sing in front of anyone! She was so shy! Jared brought out the best in her and helped to build her self confidence. Just last month she held her first concert for her band and so many people came to see her! Her confidence on stage was like night and day from the first time she preformed. She is now writing her own music thanks to Jared who has from day one always encouraged her to write her own music and to believe in herself!
