I recently visited Draper Park, and to say it was a disaster would be an understatement. From the moment I arrived, I was hit with one issue after another, and I honestly can’t believe how poorly maintained and misleading this place turned out to be. If I could give it zero stars, I absolutely would.
Let’s start with the zip line swing, which was one of the main attractions my family was excited about. Surprise, surprise—it was broken! Not only was it out of order, but there was no sign or warning about it. We made the trek all the way over to the zip line only to find it completely unusable, which, honestly, was just a taste of the disappointment to come.
But it wasn’t just the broken zip line that ruined the experience. The park seemed to be a magnet for rude drivers. People were honking at me for literally no reason. I parked, got out of my car, and immediately had a car behind me laying on the horn because, apparently, I wasn’t moving fast enough to their liking. What is it with this place that turns drivers into absolute maniacs? No one wants to deal with that while trying to have a relaxing time at a park. It was beyond frustrating.
Next up: the so-called "Tree of Life" display. The park boasts about this as one of its standout features, but let me tell you—it's a complete joke. It looked like something you'd find at a low-budget carnival, and not in a good way. The lights were lackluster, the design was uninspired, and it felt like they slapped it together without any real thought or creativity. I expected something magical, and what I got was the most mediocre, unimpressive display ever. If you’re going to advertise something as a centerpiece of your park, maybe make sure it doesn’t look like it was assembled by a bunch of disinterested interns on a coffee break.
Now, the most troubling part of the entire trip was the health issue. My family ended up with pink eye—yes, pink eye—after spending time at the park. I’m convinced it came from the dirtiness of the park. The playground equipment looked like it hadn't been cleaned in years. There were sticky surfaces everywhere, and every time my kid touched anything, I worried what kind of germs they’d be bringing home. Low and behold, a few days later, my entire family was dealing with pink eye. I would recommend anyone who values their health to avoid this park at all costs.
And let me not forget the complete lack of signage. The slides were apparently only for kids under 12, which was fine—I understand the reasoning behind that. But what I don’t understand is why they make you climb five flights of stairs, with obstacles in the way, to finally reach the slides, only to have a tiny sign at the top that tells you, "Hey, these slides are for kids under 12." Really? You make people climb all the way up there first, just to tell them they can't use the slides? It’s not only frustrating but downright deceptive. I felt completely misled and frustrated by the whole situation.
Overall, my experience at Draper Park was an absolute disaster. From the broken attractions and rude drivers to the filthy equipment and pink eye, it’s safe to say I will never be returning here again. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else—literally anywhere else—where your time and money are...
Read moreA quick cold visit to see the beautiful lights and share the view with family. It's difficult to find parking near or in the park but we lucked out the vendors were already packing up, but there were plenty of families and children still playing due to the light from the trees. We came to share the Tree of Life with it's million lights. It could very well be! The surrounding trees decorated in blues, reds, greens and other colors don't stand out as brightly lit as they are. It's utterly amazing! What could be added to improve the ambience? If an event organizer added holiday music and have local bands a single stage and let them audition for some time to offer their talent throughout the event. Perhaps add a cultural aspect as well with some displays about the holiday around the world. As it stands, you'll be drawn to go see the lights, find some vendors selling wares and even hot cocoa and some heaters. The Tree of Life (Lights) remain the most...

I apologize for not having any pictures, but I will get some updated ASAP.
My friend wanted some family pictures, of her family, and so we spent about 90 minutes here, on a Sunday evening.
There were a lot of kids in the playground area, and swings, but besides that, there were not that many people here.
There are some amazing bridges, that are great for photo shoots, and just a lot of open space, with amazing trees and backdrops.
If you are looking for a great place, to take pictures, this has to be one of the best in the state... I love this place, and I'm pretty sure I'll be visiting here a lot more...
