I will not be using PetSmart ever again after today's incident.
I brought my dog into PetSmart in Dublin on the weekend to inquire about Doggie Day Camp. I filled out the paperwork, asked my questions, and all that so that we could schedule a day to bring him in while I am at work. (My dog normally sits in my apt by himself all day while I am at work and I wanted to let him play with other dogs all day.) They reviewed his vet paperwork (which states that he is a Black Lab/Rhodesian Ridgeback mix), his AKC Good Canine Citizenship certification and had 3 staff members come out to "look at him". After all this, which took about 30-40min they said that he would be all set to come to Doggy Day Camp and play with the other dogs. They said sometihng along the lines of "they don't allow pit bulls or bully breeds but he doesn't look like one really and his vet paperwork says he's not so your all set"
So we scheduled our first day and my boyfriend drops him off on his way into work in South bay and the store says that we can't have our dog in Doggy Day Camp because he LOOKS like a pitbull mix. My bf explained that he wasn't and said that they specifically asked what the dog was when we came in over the weekend and we showed them the vet paperwork and they said that it would be fine.
Well it wasn't. My bf was told that he could leave the dog and that the manager would have to say whether or not he would be allowed in Doggy Day Camp, even after we already got approval on the weekend. He had no chance but to leave the dog there because we lived to far away to back track and take him back home and have him make it to work.
I called complaining about the situation and was told that I would have to wait until the manager came in to speak with him about it. I asked to have the manager call me when he made a decision and low and behold, he didn't call, he had a staff member call me back stating that they would keep my dog in a kennel and take him out at "regular intervals" to play by himself but that he would not be allowed in Doggy Day Camp because he has some of the same characteristics of a pitbull/bully breed.
I could've left my dog at home if that was the case. I was told he would be able to do Doggy Day Camp and I will be speaking with a manager when I pick up my dog today on why I should be paying them for a day in a kennel when I was told it would be a day playing with other dogs; that's not what I agreed to, that was not what I was told. I will be writing a complaint to corporate about this as well.
I can't believe that PetSmart discriminates against bully breeds and doesn't care whether or not the paperwork they asked for says he's not a bully breed/pitbull.
I will never use PetSmart services again or be shopping there after this incident. My poor dog has to sit by himself in a cage most of the day in a place he is unfamiliar with because they changed their mind on the day we brought him in for Day Camp. I am very upset about...
Read moreI used the After Pay program to purchase a stroller for my puppy. I did an online order. I never received confirmation after making my purchase. I called the store hours later and inquired about my order. I was told they were back filled, and it hadn't been completed yet (but they would go grab it). I headed to the store. When I got there ten minutes later, the store was not busy at all, so there really was no reason for orders to be backfilled. There was one male cashier working, while the manager and other employees just sat in his office chatting. I know this, because the door was open. I received my order and went to my car. The box was beat up and sealed with scotch tape. I opened the box to examine the stroller. The stroller was covered in white dog hair, and I instantly noticed the wheels were worn, dirty and rugged. I went back inside of the store and asked for an exchange for a brand new stroller. The store did not have any more strollers. I was offered a discount of 25%. I was satisfied with that, so I accepted. I went back out to my car, I decided to put the stroller together to make sure all the pieces were there. Inside of the carrier, there was some type of bodily fluid and scratches throughout. I attempted to insert the reinforcement side panels, but the fabric was ripped and frayed. The cup holder of the stroller was sticky and also chewed up. I went back into the store. I stated that I did not want to keep the stroller and gave the cash back from the 25 % discount refund. I asked for a full refund. The employee that came out of the manager's office said since I used After Pay she did not know how to refund my money. She said "I recommend you initiate some kind of help from After Pay to see how you get your money back." I said "I recommend you initiate that conversation and figure out how to get my money back." She told me she had been out of the store for some time and did not know how After Pay works. The entire time, the store manager never came out of the office to speak to me directly. I took issue with this, and made it known. After I made an issue of the manager not coming to handle this debacle, he then decided it was time to come talk to me. I have never felt so disrespected in a store as I did today. I can confidently say that I that I will NEVER shop at PetSmart again.
**The excuse I got from the store manager was After Pay is a new program and they did not know how to use it.. I find it hard to believe that PetSmart would not train store managers and employees on how to use a new program in their store. I feel as though the store manager is lazy, unprofessional and incompetent. I am thoroughly disgusted. I also tried to contact Corporate many times after this event, and was unsuccessful. I truly feel like the Dublin PetSmart store and Corporate do not care about their customers.
This whole experience from start to finish was terrible.
Oh I was offered a 15% discount on an item in the...
Read moreI am usually empathetic towards anyone who is doing some good service towards pet , especially dogs . But this time I was very disappointed with petsmart. This is my first experience leaving my dog Archie in the dog hotel at petsmart Dublin Armado location and I wanted to try it out for a night. At the time of dropping off my pet , I had asked the front desk of the pet hotel to educate me on the standard room vs suite room . The standard rooms are basically the crate kind of rooms, whereas the suites are the 2x2 rooms where pets can have more room to wiggle . My dog usually dislikes sleeping in the crate so I booked suite room for him . The very next day (today) when I went to pick him up, I found him in the crate( standard room) right infront and he was trying to drink water and no water was even served . When I asked the front desk lady - that’s my dog and why is he not in his suite with no water being served , her reply was like - “that’s someone else’s dog” . I was perplexed , and I told her that’s my dog . Later she gives a lame reason saying - we loaded unloaded them and he got missed being in his suite. I asked her , do you have a proof whether he stayed in suite overnight , and her reply was - we don’t have surveillance video to share. I was again perplexed by her replies and her behaviors. She charged me for full for the suite room and I did not feel like arguing as my first priority was to get my pet out of this hotel & keep him safe . As soon as I got out, my dog begged for water and galloped so much of water relentlessly , which clearly states that he was not served with basic necessity which is water.
Also, he smelt so much of pee that we were really sad that we forced him to stay in the hotel overnight!
I am never gonna put my pet in this location’s petsmart hotel (might be other locations are good). I hope my experience helps someone !! It maybe one of the dog to the petsmart staff but my dog has one life in...
