April's Garden — Local services in Durango

April's Garden fulfilled our unique request with our choice of colors to specific design for decorating Gazebo at Echo Basin Ranch in Mancos, CO for our son's wedding on Sept 16th. Colleen was very nice, very knowledgeable and personally worked with us on creating a design with combination of colorful flowers and tulle for outdoor wedding venue. Colleen & her staff started working on the decoration at sunrise and completed the decoration by noon as promised. Although wedding was at 4:00 pm, I wanted to make sure the place was ready in time for wedding and our guests who traveled from different part of the country had chance to seat back & enjoy the natural beauty of outdoor wedding along with beautiful flower arrangement.

The sprays on top going across with hanging flowers and sprays on both side polls going down with colorful lilies were perfect. The Pomander hanging in middle of the Gazebo with all roses was so beautiful & small bouquets on isle chairs were gorgeous. The flowers were vibrant and arrangements looked spectacular, especially in the evening sun. Although the place was decorated earlier in the day, flowers stayed fresh throughout the whole evening and till next morning. I was really wanting to send a dear friend a special gift it was her birthday, but she was also a devoted 24/7 caregiver for her elderly husband, and she was tired. She needed a “pick-me-up” but she lives 8 hours away from me! So, I began looking for some sort of delivery service that could make something special for her and deliver it to her home. There aren't many such services down in the SW corner of the state, near Cortez, Mancos and Durango, but I stumbled upon April’s Garden, and spoke with Ruby who answered the phone. She sounded like one of the nicest, most empathetic and capable young people that I had talked to in a long while. She immediately put me at ease (I was getting nervous, as time was running short) and helped me pick out a Care Basket, which she filled with a lot of locally made items honey, candle, chocolates, soap bombs and many more items. I also asked for colorful balloons to be attached to the basket. Not only did Ruby send me a photo of the finished product a few hours later, which was beautiful, but even the driver texted me and sent me a photo of my friend’s front door, where she left the basket, in the shade. Natalie did Amazing work for us even though we never met her in person! Our wedding was a destination wedding and we were never able to visit Durango before the wedding to meet with vendors. We chose her after talking with the owner of the Silverpick Lodge and looking at the online portfolios of several area florists. We had one phone consultation and gave her access to our pinterest board and I told her what we had in mind. I sort of thought that we were a little vague and unfocused in our descriptions (ohh, lots of greenery --definitely ferns and moss. Kind of like a woodland fairy vibe? Organic and uncontrolled, but still pretty?) But she seemed to know exactly what I was talking about. They came in and set up and my fiancee and I wandered through before the ceremony just to see it all and we gasped because it was so exactly perfect. It was what we we had dreamed together.
