Took my son to spirit Halloween on route 18 in East Brunswick for our annual costume shopping and had a horrible customer service experience. When we went to the register to pay for our purchase I showed my 20% off coupon and the girl informed me it was already expired. I thought that was odd but didnât dive deeper and paid for the costume. When we checked out the girl made sure to tell us and circle that the costume was eligible for return until October 18. When I went out to my car I checked the spirit Halloween website and there was a 20% off coupon with an expiration date of October 24th. Thinking it was not a big deal I reentered the store and explained to a new cashier that I had just made the purchase and wasnât sure why my coupon didnât work so I wanted to return the costume and then repurchase the item so that I could use it. He told me he had to get his manager Gabby to do this. After a couple minutes of not being able to locate Gabby they were able to track her down. When I explained to her what happened she said âwe can not do price adjustments.â I let her know that was no problem that I would return the item and then repurchase. She said in a very nasty and condescending tone âso a price adjustmentâ I explained I wasnât sure how that would be a price adjustment that the item was eligible for return and I would just repurchase it with my coupon. She told me she needed âpermissionâ to do that. I wasnât sure why it was an issue but was patient while she laughed and groaned while getting her boss on the phone. Then she got off and said they were going to do a price adjustment but the item would then be nonrefundable. This was a $65 costume which there is no way to know if it will fit so I didnât want to run the risk of doing that. I told her to just return the item and I would go to a different spirit Halloween to purchase it. I had to explain to my son who was very excited to get the costume that we would be leaving it at the store. The unprofessional actions by this manager and this team was deplorable. Not only did she make me feel like I was trying to âget one over on themâ she ruined the whole experience for my son who loves Halloween and looks forward to shopping at spirit Halloween every year. I work in customer service and have many people who frequent my establishment and I will be telling them to NOT GO to this location as well as all the moms I know in my area so that they donât have the chance of having a similar bad experience with their...
Read moreWow, world class scammers I'm impressed! I went to buy a Chucky costume on Wednesday, October 25th for my dad. We didn't know which one would fit so we bought two so that we could come back and exchange one. I specifically asked the cashier what date these should be exchanged by and she told me it was Friday. On Friday when I tried to exchange the costume, they told me exchange's were due by Thursday the 26th even though the cashier specifically told me otherwise. They assured me nothing could be done, this was a simple mistake and they apologized. This may have been slightly believable if my mom wasn't also told that exchanges were due on Friday. Even if this was a mistake and not a plot to steal from customers , it was their mistake that they insisted that I payed for. THESE PEOPLE ARE TRAINED TO STEAL YOUR MONEY!!!...
Read moreThis was one of the largest Spirit stores I've ever been in, which was awesome because they had a good variety.
However, we walked in about 20 minutes before they closed (had no idea they closed so early until we got there), and the staff were already walking around turning off all the animatronics. Coming to see those was the main reason I brought my son and my nephew in, and they were all disconnected, leading to two very disappointed kids. The whole process only took the worker about 5 minutes, so I don't understand why that couldn't have been done after they close? Surely there were other closing duties that would have made more sense to do while there were still customers in the store, who were potentially there to see how things work and spend...
