DSW Designer Shoe Warehouse — Local services in East Rutherford

I was there between 7-8pm on 12/7/22. Walked in, picked out shoes, and these 2 women at the counter were talking amongst themselves as I stood there with a box in my hand waiting to get checked out on line. There was a 0% chance they didn’t see me. Another lady comes along and just walks near the counter and one of the girls asked her if she wanted to be rung up as I continued to stand right next to them with a box of shoes ready to be purchased for 3 minutes as they continued to ignore me lol. Knowing I just got cut, I politely put the box on the counter right next to the other lady waiting for the other female at the counter to simply acknowledge my presence. I guess mistakes happen, right? Well, she legit turned her back on me purposely ignoring me without a single word. I had to walk out of the store at that point and left the shoes on the counter. It was the most odd experience I’ve ever dealt with and just insanely bad customer service. There were 4 people in the vicinity. The 2 female employees, myself and the lady that got checked out 3 minutes after I stood right next to the counter waiting to be called on. Not a single “hello”, “can I help you”, “be right with you”, etc.. Had no other choice...

I rarely do any shopping in DSW anymore do to horrible Customer Service experiences and Lack of Selection for my tastes. I happen to be at the Mall with my family, and to kill time I decided to head in and look around. I actually found a pair of shoes that I liked and wanted to possibly purchase. I couldn't find anyone to help so I headed over to the checkout, either way I would find the price (multiple stickers on the shoe box) or I could just leave them their. The young lady at the front, Amaya was an excellent help. Not only was she able to quickly research the proper price of the shoes but also engaged me and my wife in small talk while we waited. I know it may not seem like much, but so often I have encounters that make me feel as if I'm bothering an employee. All this just to thank Amaya and let DSW know that it was her Customer Service that has changed my opinion about shopping...

DSW didn't offer a huge selection of mens leather shoes but I found what I went there for which was a pair of drivers. Now as far as value, the pair I selected, which is a designer brand (Vince Camuto), in black leather fit perfect and in my size. These are my first pair and my concern is if I'll put significant wear on the bottom side of the toe area. The underside extends past the rubber sole thus creating a protruded area of the last. Let's see...
