I gave 1 star because there is no zero!!!! If you want to move to Liberty Terrace in East Rutherford , DONT DO IT! I couldn’t give 0, because the lowest point was 1! Until you sign the lease agreement, they are so helpful and responsive. After that you can’t reach anybody about any issue! One day I came home and our living room was like this! And nobody informed us about anything. Constant ion people was on the carpet without their shoes! And we have a baby who is playing on the floor! As I said nobody said anything. Also our money and valuable assets are in the house! They are thinking that they can do everything in your house without your permission. I didn’t count that how many times they went into the house without the permission. And end of the all this journey , they didn’t give our exact deposit back. They tried to cut the deposit with unreal reasons. When you are looking for a new unit, they will tell you that they are changing the carpets after every tenants. But end of the lease they will charge $425 to change the carpets for the next tenants! And you never and never can reach to the customer services or responsible parts. If you are lucky and you can, they will hang out to your face the phone when you start to ask questions. Also you can open a maintenance request , they are not responding but they close as completed. Super guy was also rude, when you openA request, he is coming and telling you that no need to fix it! He can decide that what do you need in your home! It was a terrible 2 years and we are still trying to get...
Read moreThe location is good. The building service is terrible. If you are going for the triplex, be aware that the den would be useless during winter unless you have a really good electric heater to heat up the whole room (which would also cost you additional $200 a month in electricity apart from the $2400+ rent). Management would gladly avert this topic till you've paid for moving, and then tell you that you never asked about whether the den would be cold. Washer and Dryer are also tiny (about 5 pairs of pants and shirts would fill up it up) adding to your electricity cost. The heating unit is on the second floor causing the third floor to be really hot and the first floor (den) to be really cold. Building maintenance person says nothing can be done to the ducts to fix this because of the decision to put the heating unit on the second floor.
Triplexes that face the road have problem of water dripping inside from the windows sill during rain, which management also knows (the building maintenance person told me this when it happened the first time and said its a known issue on apartments facing the road). Beware of their definition of emergency. Kitchen drain pipe being broken is not an emergency for them. They would gladly ask you to stop using it till Monday for it to be fixed.
Initially the commute to city was easy as the bus stop was close by (route 163, 164 and 162), but now I rarely find any seats on the bus and have to stand and go all the way...
Read moreI would give 0 starts if I had the option, Initially its all glossy and then just goes downhill from there:
The place has a lot of raccoons, we had one fall on our balcony once.
Our washer/dryer was broken and they took 3 weeks to replace it. They just told us we could drive to the laundromat instead. Around that time they told us they would financially compensate if a broken appliance is not replaced in 30 days, however when I brought it up later, they said I was misguided and that I had no -proof.
Then the microwave broke and they said that is not a necessity, and that we have a stove on which we could boil water. Customer care also said the property manager will decide if we can get a new microwave and that there are lots of people in the world live without microwaves.
Property basically treats you like they are doing you a favor by fixing broken appliances.
Rents are high for broken facilities and bad treatment.
Each time they have a new policy that they see fit to delay fixing broken stuff.
Heat and cold insulation is bad, whatever rent you may save compared to another place, you will end up paying in utility bills.
Lot of insects come into the house.
Ultimately, none of the concerns you may have are addressed by the management, instead they just give you a moral lesson on how you can live with those issues. When you tell them that the rent is inclusive of these facilities, they say they cannot do...
