As a taco lover from CA, I reluctantly tried this place again as it was convenient. I should have listened to my inner voice yelling "NOOOOOOO! IT SUCKED BEFORE ITS GOING TO SUCK AGAIN!". But of course I didn't listen. This however brought up memories of my first visit. Empty store, waited 20 minutes for four tacos. I was told that it only order two of each protien for the four tacos and not add another. The reason I order multiple meats so that I can figure out what the taqueria is good at. My go to are always al pastor and chorizo, a barbacoa or carne asada, they don't have barbacoa and the steak will cost more so I stuck with the chorizo and Al pastor. The drink machine is down and although I normally wouldn't let that get to me The whole experience was off. So after 15 minutes I get the tacos and honestly the chorizo had decent flavor but was dry. chorizo is usually so fatty and delicious that dry is rarely a descriptive adjective that I would use. So two of those moistened up with the salsa which is good they were okay. This brings me to the al pastor or steak I couldn't figure out what it was and if they got my order wrong. Parts of it were porky which led me to believe that it was all pastor but there was no sweet heat no fruit really nothing it was just roasted pork. Then I got to the last taco and I'm not sure if it was pork jerky or beef jerky All of which was dry. That seems to be a theme for the proteins that I've personally eaten there is that they were dry to the point that that drink machine would be necessary. Not sure if management reads this but I would look into food quality cook times order speed and try to make some changes. For this area I'm going to stick with casa de los tacos in Secaucus.

For the wait, you might as well go to a restaurant worth waiting in. I’m writing this review as I sit in the restaurant already 45 minutes gone since we ordered. The amount of door dash orders that come in and are picked up shows clearly which customers are the priority. Not the ones who come in to sit down and eat. We were sitting 30 minutes before they brought us the chips and queso and she had the audacity to tell me here’s your chips while you wait for your food. We had a kid with us. It doesn’t take long to make a quesadilla at least for her. And they continue to make food for the door dash people picking up. The food finally comes 55 minutes later and my Al pastor tacos had no pineapple or cilantro. She tells me they only give the pineapple if the customer asks and proceeds to say they’re all out of pineapple and cilantro. What kind of customer service is that? At least tell me you’re out when I order. And God forbid you need a napkin cause you won’t find one until the food comes out. I will never come to this location again. It put the restaurant chain to shame. If you want to keep your customers do better, especially those who take the time to come in to eat.

You have to work hard to make Mexican food worse than Taco Bell, but here it is. Long wait. Check. Days-old meat. Check. Hair. Double check. Hypertension sufferers should take heed. Salt is flagrantly used to substitute for seasoning and flavor. Tortillas, if you can call them such, were made during the mesozoic age, giving them a density that ranks among the elements found mid-periodic table. Regarding the meat, as Rodney Dangerfield famously said, "I think I still see the marks where the jockey was hitting it." Waiting for my food, I watched as one order after another was mangled and mishandled. Not sure where the cretins who work here spawned from, but they single handedly skew down the average IQ score for the entire state of NJ. Needless to say, there were a lot of leftovers that went into the trash. Eat at your own risk! And why can't you give zero stars?!

My wife and I ordered $200 worth of catering from the East Rutherford Taqueria Los Gueros for our daughter‘s birthday party this past Sunday. We ordered the food days in advance and then called on Friday to confirm the order and delivery for 2pm on Sunday. At 2:15pm on Sunday I called to see where the order was and the restaurant said it was out for delivery. After another 15 minutes went by, I called again and asked for an update. They again said it was out for delivery. I asked them to call the delivery driver and find out where they are. They said they would call and hung up on me. At 2:40 I called back and asked for the manager. I was told they would go check to see if the manager was in. About 5 minutes later, the girl in the phone said the manager was not in the store. I asked her to call the manager and keep me on the phone. I heard her call and speak to the manager but could not hear what they said. I was told that my order was not prepared because they didn’t have the ingredients to fulfill the order so they transferred my order to Passaic. I was blown away at this point and told her to have the manager to call me. About 2 minutes later I got a call, not from the manager, but from the Los Gueros location in Paterson. The girl on the phone told me that they would start preparing my order now, at 3:05pm. They said it would be ready in about 35 minutes and then delivered after that so around 4pm it would arrive. At this point I was done and told them to cancel my order and to refund the money. The birthday party started at 2pm and now because of Los Gueros there would was no food. Beyond that, the fact that they told me the food was out for delivery when they didn’t even have the ingredients to make the order is ridiculous. The manager still has yet to contact me nor have they refunded the money yet. Los Gueros management is unprofessional and unacceptable. If I could give them a zero star...

Turned out to have a bad unprofessional customer service experience with the catering manager Kevin for the NJ locations. I was referred to contact him by the East Rutherford location as I was looking for catering for my 30th birthday dinner in a couple of days. Kevin seemed responsive and attentive to my requests during our first phone call. He ensure to provide pricing and detailed info that would align with the budget I mentioned that same day. I did not hear back and called him the next day and he apologized he missed to get back to me but again reassured me he would get back to me that day. It's been 2 days since our first conversation and 3 days until the event and I called and texted again and still did not receive any time of response. I find this to be very unprofessional as this is wasting my time and waiting on a service for an event that is only days away and missing the chance to either look elsewhere or commit to the catering options Kevin provided me with which at first seemed very feasible but the lack of follow up just seems very stressful. This lack of service can lead to loss in potential catering opportunities. Advising future customers if you are looking to get catering from Taqueria Los Gueros - have other...
