I've purchased several guitars and gear from Mojo's and it's fantastic - here's why. The staff actually knows something about the instruments and gear they sell. You can ask questions (even if you don't really know what to ask) and they are patient and and knowledgeable. I was treated like they wanted me to hang out there, take my time - not just buy something and go away. I do my homework when I buy (I'm a bit of a cheapskate) and I've always been given great deals. I remember coming in to buy a specific brand guitar, on the high price end. The Owner asked me what I was looking for and actually directed me to a different model at a cheaper price! The best part was that he was right- the more expensive model would not have worked as well. I still have the guitar he sold me - it's exactly what I needed. My friend wanted to upgrade his bass and had 2 bass guitars he wanted to trade in. The national chain said no, but Mojo's gave him a great deal on his trade-in and a new bass. I just don't get that kind of service elsewhere. I remember one instance when I needed a little help (my guitar was dropped), so I brought it in. The owner took a look at it, spent a few minutes making adjustments, and handed it back- fixed. No charge. I live in Godfrey, so it's a bit of a hike to get to Mojo's but...
Read moreThe work was alright. The problem is, me and my buddy who went in at the same time were told 2 MAYBE 3 weeks for just a setup on our guitars, one of which literally just needed a slight tune up. After 4 weeks we gave a phone call and were told probably another week or two was needed on our guitars. Mind you the one I brought in was my great grand father’s old guitar I received after he passed and they had it in their shop for over a month without any word from them. If it’s gonna take more than the promised time that’s fine, but we would at least appreciate some sort of communication. A phone call, text, even just a simple email. My guitar coming in had some decently high action and I knew coming in that it wouldn’t be completely fixed, but when I got it back it was almost exactly how I dropped it off and I was still charged full price even though it wasn’t close to fixed and they kept it more than double the promised time. By the time we both had gotten our guitars back, it had been 7 or so weeks since we first dropped them off. (We were told 2 to 3 and never given...
Read moreFirst time ive been in this store my experience was great! Ive been in the market for a Guild guitar for afew years and they are the only Guild dealer in the area. Very reasonable on trade in equipment, not top dollar but better than the insulting Guitar Center. They were willing to negotiate on the purchase which is nice. Easy transaction in and out in 20 minutes. The main thing was the cleanliness of the store and the quality control of their instraments i played 3 guitars and all of the were in tune with newer strings. All the guitars were in brand new condition and well kept, you WILL NOT get that at Guitar Center. Very cool guys one on one customer service! They will be my first choice in the STL area from now on for sure! MoJos then Swing City please dont waste your money at...
