I stopped by Journeys today with my daughter to look for a backpack. There were 4 associates working at the store. 2 of the associates were busy taking care of customers and another seemed busy unpacking merchandise. One particular associate, a young lady with short hair was the one that we asked for help since she was not busy taking care of another customer. We needed a backpack from the walls since backpacks are out of reach. The young lady was wearing airpods and very busy texting and using her mobile device. We had to wait until she was done texting before she gave us the backpack. She gave us a different backpack than the one we asked for. When we were at the cash register the young lady continue to be on her mobile device. At one point she was either sending voice notes messages or engaged in a phone call conversation. I asked her 2 questions related to the purchase and the lady didn't help me. It was not a good shopping experience. It is very sad to see that employees abuse of their privileges at work. A company is paying you to do a job and provide good customer service. The company does not pay you to be on your mobile device. It is very disrespectful towards the company and the customers. I over heard the other associate providing answers to questions to the other customer. I truly felt like I should have taken my business somewhere else but my daughter really liked the backpack so I kept my mouth shut, paid and left the store. I will not be coming back to this...
