Coborn's Grocery Store — Local services in Elk River

Store is clean, wide variety of food choices. Terrible customer service. Had exactly ten items but was brushed off by the cashier at the 10 Items or Less register. He said he can't help us. Forced go to self checkout and tried to use my WIC card for fruit and milk while an employee opened his register to help another shopper. He saw me having issues and then said I can't use WIC cards at the self checkout, and that there's a sign there, which I obviously didn't see (it was very small print and not easily seen until going to check out). He didn't even offer to help me check out at his register so I could use my WIC benefits. I ended up paying with my debit card, which is fine, but it was a very irritating experience with the employees. Especially because there were two of them at the 10 Items or Less register chatting and I wasn't offered assistance with...

The first thing I noticed about this coborns store is it feels huge, with that I have been able to find things I don't normally find at other local coborns. It's usually very clean and the staff has been friendly and helpful when I needed assistance. One thing I noticed here that the coborns closer to me is lacking is a well stocked and rather large discount aisle and there are other little discount locations around the store too. One of the perks of going to the coborns around here is this Amish butter they sell which is comparable to the price of conventional butter but it tastes so much better.

Another thing that surprises me at coborns is their meat counter, usually you can find some really nice cuts and if you order ahead of time you can get custom burger patties mixed with different things and...

Every time we go there, no one is working the customer service counter. They deliberately act as tho they don't see you and turn away when you make eye contact. When I just needed to ask a question one time and get change for a twenty another, they made me go all the way around the island and fall in line with others who are all trying to get there next. So you wait for the 3 carts, 1 handbasket and an armload to get thru before it's your turn. Then they smuggly answer or act as tho they're doing you a favor! They despise anyone who wants lottery tickets. They let you know that with their body language and quiet remarks. Oddly, never had these issues with any other Coborns or other stores. Just...
