Antique Depot — Local services in Ellicott City

This place is a mess. Overpriced, items are missing tags, stuff is strewn about everywhere and you really can't take a good look at the items inside the glass compartments without the attendants breathing down your back. Speaking of the attendants who work there, they have really bad body odor and I could barely breathe the whole time they were near me.

One last complaint: the attendant there dropped an item I was buying at the register, BROKE IT, then had the audacity to try to sneak it into the bag without me noticing while I paid for it. If I hadn't double checked my bag to see he had broken it I would have gone home with a damaged item, and since they have a no return policy I would have been unable to return it.

Situated in the historic Old Town section of Ellicott City, right across the road from the train depot, the Antique Depot is a stop you won't want to skip. The building is a charming 4 floor structure built in 1873 as a livery stable, which later became a hardware store. It has plenty of nooks and crannies stuffed with vintage treasures to explore. Housing over 60 different vendor booths, the variety seems endless. On a typical day, you can find shoppers browsing through vintage linens, cameras, china, holiday decor, toy soldiers, books, clothing, jewelry, tools, and more. 3+ hrs went by fast in this store that transgresses time into historic expeditions. Only the feet being tired and hunger reminded me of the missed lunch and upcoming dinner time. What an amazing store! Three levels of vintage items that remind the visitors of grandma’s attic or basement (smell also). This is truly a history lesson for children. I’ll certainly return to this place. Free parking is available throughout the old city but a wall on the Main Street in Old Ellicott City never hurt anyone.
