A very welcome environment! I've recently been going here as I've started to get into Warhammer 40K, though I do also enjoy things like D&D and Magic: the Gathering which are also supported by the shop, and the community is very open for those who are willing! Also, sorry that I want to go in-depth with this...
The front part is a small store which has all manner of games ranging from tabletop (40K and Star Wars Legion), cards (Pokemon boosters and MTG boosters), board games (Scythe), and even supplies that you may want to support those hobbies (dice, DM Screens, paints and binders if you need those). The staff (Nate and Steven are the two I've interacted with so far) are open and welcoming, whether they're chatting with customers or walking around to the back. And the back is special because that's where the store really seems to come alive.
The back half/three-quarters of the "store" is a game floor with tables for card games, tabletop games, board games, and even a separate room for D&D. Truly, there's a space for everyone here.
Plus, they have a Discord where people are always active with updates regarding store events, upcoming pre-orders, and channels for a wide variety of games and hobbies where you can pop in and get to know everyone else very well.
The only issue with the store, by no fault of their own, is that their location doesn't make parking the easiest. I find that the best place to park is a small free parking alcove a short jog away from the store. But other than that, I eagerly anticipate every chance I get to head here!
TL;DR: is gud. very noice....
Read moreThere are game stores that are closer to my home, my work, and where I tend to hang out in the city, but I go here for a number of reasons.
First and foremost, the employees are knowledgeable, professional, courteous, and down to earth. Ask a question and you'll get an answer that won't be laced with condescension or snobbery (possibly an additional adjacent answer, too). I have yet to have or witness an interaction that would lead me to think otherwise.
Second, their events are well organized and their store is clean. At this point, I've gone to a number of events run at this location, and many others over many years at many other stores. Professionally, I'm a process and procedure guy, so the fact that they have a system that I've witnessed work multiple times, and that they can communicate it effectively is just pure gold in my eyes.
Third, they have a genuine focus on community engagement that is visible through the clientele present in-store for events and otherwise. So, there's always something going on in-store across the gamut of what I consider analogue gaming (TCG, RPG, miniatures, and board games). And while my schedule doesn't really allow for it, I've seen many while I'm just passing through and everyone always seems happy.
Finally, they have a giant 40k space marine. His name is Nate, and I'm pretty sure he's the manager. He's a pretty cool dude, and I bestow upon him the title of Consummate Professional, pretty much for all the...
Read moreEdit on owner response: Since the store is able to custom order then I upgraded to 5's good to see strong support for the local community. *
Excellent little game shop with a lot of character & friendly staff. They have a small selection of all the basic staples (magic the gathering, Pokémon, yu gi oh, and Warhammer, star wars armada, and rpg's with a heavy leaning toward D&D 5E but a few third party and other games) . They have a large gaming room that is set up for wargames, card games, and ttrpgs with a large selection of terrain and even custom 3d printed sets from in the store. They have a library of board games that you can check out to play for free. They use to have a podcast studio but have since converted it to a long distance session room so you can play with members in far away locations. The only down sides are that they have limited retail space and the selection is quite narrow but on point for the basics of each hobby. They did not do custom orders so you will have to seek out niche items from other locations. I highly encourage that you make this you favorite local store and purchase as much as you can to keep the welcome common space available for you and...
