I originally came in to try this place because I had walked by before they opened and am always excited to try a new tea shop, and it has quickly become my new favorite! They have, in my opinion, an extensive drink menu, so if you like trying a lot of different things like I do it's great, and if you're on the pickier side I'm sure they've got something that'll suit your taste. My favorite so far is the Mango Ade.

Their desserts are also phenomenal! They offer Sachertorte, which is my absolute favorite cake, and have a really good variety! I recommend the Sachertorte, their Snowflake bites, the Taro Blizzard Cakes, and their Basque Cheesecakes so far, but I'm sure I'll find more I like after additional visits. I tried their Coffee Macarons they had today, and they are SO GOOD! The filling was the perfect amount of coffee flavor for me!

I know this review is a bit long, but I also want to draw special attention to the staff because they are genuinely such kind and delightful people. They always have a smile on their face and make you want to keep coming back! I look forward to visiting this shop more in...

I had stopped in to visit another shop which was closed. I noticed SPT&P and thought I pop in. I was glad that I did. I was greeted by Tina who was very friendly and courteous while serving me. I ordered the Mango Passion Fruit Green Tea and it was delicious. I choose to have a seat at one of the tables in the pastry shop as the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Later Tina came over and made small talk and provided me with enlightened me in regards to the sugar levels used in the various drinks. She also took the time to answer my questions about the pastry shop. This is a must visit as I shall return to treat myself to one of the desserts on display in the showcase. I had just dined at a local restaurant and was full. Now that I sit here and think to myself, I should have purchased a dessert to dine on while creating this review. Oh well, guess I will have to make a trip back to SPT&P for a drink and some dessert. This is a must visit. Keep up...

From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with the delightful aroma of freshly baked pastries and the warm hospitality of the staff. The variety of teas they offer is impressive, catering to every palate imaginable. Whether you're a fan of traditional black teas or adventurous enough to try their unique blends, there's something for everyone. (Mango dragon fruit tea is my favorite) And the pastries? They're simply divine! Each one is lovingly crafted with attention to detail, resulting in treats that are not only visually stunning but also incredibly delicious. The cozy atmosphere of the shop makes it the perfect spot for a relaxing afternoon tea with friends or a solo indulgence session. Every visit to Sugar Plum Tea and Pastry Shop is a delightful experience, and I can't recommend it enough to anyone looking for a taste of sweetness...

I’m at a loss for words for how amazing this tea & pastry shop is. I personally can vouch for the Steam pork buns as being a must have for those who love savory. As for the sweet side of life, I found myself getting an Iced Vietnamese Coffee to pair with my pork buns. They have a variety of desserts, treats, and drink options that range from Milk and Fruit tea, all the way to Sparkling Drinks, Smoothies, Slushies, and Lemonade! Seating is open with four people to each table and a soon to be opened second floor, who knows what awaits after they close for Spring Break. The atmosphere and lighting are vibrant, but not overwhelming to the senses, and with the accompanying Lofi Beats to listen to I find it hard to leave!

Was out on an Ellicott city exploration this afternoon and I stumbled upon this place. Looked cute from the outside and menu offered a wide range of boba and fresh tea. We ordered- mango mousse, passion fruit mousse cake, Japanese cake. Mango mousse was an okay-ish attempt I believe. Mousse cake comes with a layer of fruit pulp and it packs a lot of flavor. Every bite was off the balance because of the over powering layer of pulp. This was even worse when it comes to passion fruit mousse cake. Japanese cake was something new and tasted like burnt sesame. Wouldn’t recommend this to anyone. Very quick in service as they serve you the same cakes from the display counter. Ambience is nice and pink.

One of the best deserts in old Ellicott City. Definitely worth it. I suggest, after enjoying Umi Sushi, coming here and getting one of their delicious drinks and deserts. I had the taro smoothie and crepe cake: outstanding. An awesome addition to old Ellicott City. Well designed and varied menu. The customer service is very outstanding - so pleasant. My entire family loved the experience. The drink prices are very very reasonable and delicious. You can sit in cute tables upstairs or downstairs. Really comfortable view of Main Street on the second floor. Good for coffee, Boba, sweet deserts - head upstairs for hanging out to do or doing homework [free wifi]. Go check it out.
