I have shopped at Encinitas Coin and Jewelry for many years. I shopped for 60 miles around to find the best prices and the most trustworthy people. Nobody came close to the family that runs Encinitas coin. I had plenty of experiences being taken advantage of when I knew nothing about buying gold and silver, and plenty of people who thought I should feel privileged to be handing them my money - but not ECJ. They treated me like a friend and a valued customer. Their prices couldnt be beat and they answered all of my silly, beginners questions at length and were happy to do so. In fact, to date, I owe my education on precious metals to them. Trustworthy, reliable family stores like this are so hard to find anymore. They take care of me, and I know I can trust them. I had a friend find a diamond ring on the beach metal detecting. He took it to other coin shops, gunshows, and even an appraiser. They offered him 80-120 dollars. ECJ said it was worth 250 and gave him 230 for it. No one else came close. In my experience, too many people are in this game for greed and because its so easy to rip off people who dont know what theyre doing. ECJ has integrity and morals. They have even given me advice that clearly cost them money so that I wouldnt regret a purchase! I wouldnt go anywhere else, and go out of my way to do business with them. Ive never been disappointed. And as a last note, whoever the guy is who posted the first review, he has got to have deeply disturbing personal issues. A few years ago, I brought some silver coins in to get a valuation, which they gladly did for me. A week or two later, after doing some research, I brought the coins back in to sell to them and was quite surprised and pleased that they checked the current silver price and the coins were worth more than when they had initially valued them.
