HEB is a great place to shop. Be aware this store is crowded and the aisles are narrow. Look for the bargains in the baskets in the center section of frozen foods. Also look at the HEB yellow coupons scattered throughout the store. Lastly, sign up for the HEB Phone Digital Coupons, the savings can be significant. Traveling to the HEB Super Centers and the different regional HEB Stores, always produces amazing finds in the bargain baskets and different unadvertised specials in that location.
Update (12/11/19) I like H-E-B. I spend about $5000/yr over the last 8 years. Unfortunately, I will not be shopping at the Corsicana Store again. i have experienced a number of issues based what I term Bait and Switch on in store pricing and poor personnel and management response to customer needs. The latest example involved pricing on milk. The posted sign said .99 and a small label below the milk shelf said $1.57. Since the large sign said .99, we bought 6 total. When the cashier scanned the milk it scanned at $1.57. She insisted the price was correct, so we requested someone check the price. When they returned after 10 minutes, they confirmed the .99 price. Since she could not override the price, we requested a lead or manager for help with the pricing issue. After another 5 minute conversation away from us, they informed us they would sell 3 milks only at .99 and the rest at $1.57. After asking why only three (based on the sign), that was the offer and if we wanted the rest it was today price of $1.57 and the posted.99 was wrong. Without realizing they had bagged the 6 milks, the cashier again charged us $1.57 upon reviewing the receipt. We then returned the extra milks for refund and recovered $1.74 for the overcharge. This cost 1 hour of time extra before leaving the store. I can only hope H-E-B feels OK in losing our S5000 revenue over 6 milks at an extra .58 for each = $3.48 to your...
Read moreWriting a review about a grocery store or supermarket might seem like a mundane task—an endless block of text or perhaps a chance to indulge in reading an irate customer’s rant. However, in my case, I want to share my admiration for the community of Ennis, Texas. Nestled conveniently near the Dallas metropolitan area yet far enough away to retain its small-town charm, Ennis offers a unique slice of Texas life. During a journey from Houston to Newcastle, Oklahoma, we received a request from family members already in Oklahoma to bring a specific coffee brand for a long-planned dinner. The challenge was to find an open supermarket with the necessary variety and quantity of this coffee. As luck would have it, we arrived in Ennis, a town I’ve often passed through but rarely explored. There, we discovered an H-E-B—a smaller version compared to the sprawling stores in Houston, including their Central Market location. As expected, the store was bustling with activity and time was running short before closing. I approached an H-E-B employee, explained the purpose of our visit, and was met with a level of service that left a lasting impression. She not only guided us to the coffee section but also assisted in locating the specific brand and quantity we needed. Does this kind of exceptional service occur only in small-town Ennis, or can it also be found in Houston’s metropolitan sprawl? I believe it’s a testament to H-E-B’s commitment to training and fostering customer-focused service across its entire system. While no organization is perfect, H-E-B remains an iconic institution in Texas, setting a standard for service and customer satisfaction. As for the conclusion of our journey, the dinner turned out fantastic, and the coffee? It was absolutely...
Read moreOrdered a bunch of tomatoes (100 of the big slicing ones and 150 of the romas). The guy in produce was very helpful but the cashiers and other staff members not so much. Instead of weighing the individual tomatoes for an accurate price they weighed one box with the tomatoes in it and multiplied it times the number of boxes. Which would be fine but the boxes themselves are heavy. I weighed the tomatoes after I got home and I had 60lbs of slicing and 30 of romas. Which at the current prices without tax should have been about $100. Since they weighed the boxes with the tomatoes it cost me $230. Then when I asked for assistance getting them into my vehicle one guy that was asked as he walked by said no, which he wasn't doing anything else. And then another lady ended up helping me. Very poor customer service and laziness. The tomatoes also ended up having bad spots on them due to the staff tossing...
