East By West — Local services in Eureka Springs

East by West is an absolute gem in Eureka Springs! I stopped in with my husband and It was easily one of the best parts of the day. The shop itself is adorable with lots of gift/souvenir items but the best part is the working bunny at checkout. Watching him hand me my receipt, credit card, etc. was SO cute and such a fun experience! East by West are also big advocates & supporters of a local nonprofit rabbit rescue - they encourage donations if you choose to take a video of the working bunny in action. They have a tip jar for cash but you can also choose to donate by adding any desired amount to your total - super easy to give back to a worthy cause! I got to meet sweet Mochi, who was originally rescued & adopted from Arkansas Pet Rabbit Network (ARPRN) - I believe most (if not all) of their working bunnies were rescued from this organization! We went to this place first in 2021, and I really enjoyed our visit then. The gift shop is full of wonderful, souvenirs and trinkets and toys, and my family really thoroughly enjoyed getting service from the bunny which I thought was adorable. The worker was also very nice. However, we came again last month and the worker was kind of condescending and rude to my mom When we mentioned that the previous time we had went, the bunny gave us our dollar bill and money. The lady was saying that it’s not clean and they’ve never done that, but we literally have a video of them doing that before. After treating my mom, like she didn’t know that money was dirty, she proceeded to have the bunny hand us coins, which was equally as dirty as money in our opinion. We just felt like she could’ve been nicer, however, the bunny and the shop were the same amount of satisfactory. Overall, we love the place, just had better customer service...

Bunnies should be roaming and not kept on a shelf all day, especially on glass where they cannot walk properly and escape from danger. This bunny could have to pee, poop, or be hungry and thirsty but you don’t know because bunnies don’t make noise. Bunny should have access to their litter box and food 24/7 and this clearly isn’t being done. The bunny is NOT having fun sitting on a shelf all day passing money, the bunny is passing the money because he’s upset why do you think the rabbit throws the money, rabbits do that because they want to move something out their way/face and your forcing them to take the money.
