The pizza here is very good. I think the prior reviews overstate the excellence just a bit, but not by too much.
I wasn't terribly impressed with the deep dish pizza. It was underseasoned, I think. A second trip for a 12" Bullpen yielded a better result. I appreciated the high-quality ingredients that were apparent in every element of the pizza. I would have liked a bit more aggressive flavor to the sauce. Overall, however, the pizza was constructed in a balanced and thoughtful way and I liked it very much.
Prices are higher than I'd like. $21 for a 12" pizza makes me think twice about visiting, but you get what you pay for, generally. Parking for pickup has been difficult on both visits. Perhaps there's a lot someplace, but I didn't find it. Service was a little slow on our first visit (was told it would take 45 minutes, but it took 75 instead) but just fine on the second.
Recommended.
UPDATE: I made my third visit to MLP and was VERY impressed. First, the value was much better. I was able to purchase a large 3-topping pizza for under $20. Very fair. The quality of the pizza was top-notch; better than either of the previous two visits. I'd still appreciate a little more spice to the sauce, but overall the pie was outstanding and generously portioned with fantastic ingredients. The Italian sausage, in particular, is some of the best I've ever had.
Also note that limited parking may be available in the alley behind the restaurant or at the...
Read moreAfter a local blog rated Major League #2 best pizza in Everett 2018, I had to give it a try. The good: I was greeted with a wonderful smile from a young lady eager to help. The establishment was clean, modern with multiple TVs playing the days sports. All looking great. The bad: The time was right around 11am, the beginning of what most may consider the "lunch rush". Being by myself, ordering pizza by the slice is easy and somewhat inexpensive. I ordered one slice of pepperoni pizza and one slice of a "Chicago Style". The pepperoni pizza was hard and had a wax or fake look about it. I thought to myself huh, well this place was voted #2, it must all be in the taste. Wrong. The taste was as it looked, nothing special about the sauce, dough, cheese or the pepperoni. Next up was the impressive looking Chicago style. It definitely had more flavor and substance but the crust was unexpectedly hard (like a rock). I was also told it had pepperoni on it. If it did, I didn't taste or see it. Conclusion: Overall, three stars was because of the wonderful service vibe I received, neat clean dinning experience. The order by slice was not worth the $2.69 x 2 and will avoid it in the future. I think its worth noting that this and the #3 vote pizza restaurant 2018 are family owned and they will always get my hard earned...
Read moreNot a great experience, but I definitely have had worse. Called in an order for large pepperoni and mushroom with a little extra sauce. Total cost of pizza was $41.73, which included a 15% tip for carryout order. The young person behind the counter said large extra pepperoni with mushroom. I told him that's not what I ordered but I'll take it anyway doesn't matter. I paid and told him I was going to eat a slice at a table (I was really hungry). On the way to the table I noticed how light the box was. To be truthful for 40 bucks I was expecting a solid pizza. I opened it up and was very disappointed by the lack of mushrooms. I mean it looked like they were sprinkled on with a pepper shaker. Next was the extra pepperoni, nothing extra about it. I wouldn't want to see what the regular pepperoni would be like. There were about two or three pieces at the most per slice of pizza. The sauce is on the sweet side which I like and the buttermilk crust was also very good. On the way out I think it was the owner told me to have a good one and I replied you too. Major League Pizza is assuredly far superior to Domino's, Pizza Hut, Papa John's or any other chain pizza. However the above average quality and friendly service does not...
