27 Dresses? Pssshhhh. Katherine Heigl has nothing on me.
I got engaged in December right before the pandemic. I was so excited to go dress shopping with my mom and sister while I was home in CT for the holidays. Some people might call me indecisive. I didn't find the dress I wanted when I was with my family the first time around...or when I went on my own in TX for my second shot...or in AL for a third attempt. Based on photo evidence from my sister and multiple counts, I may or may not have tried on somewhere in the realm of 42-45 dresses before I found A'dor Couture. I was convinced I would never find my dress. Don't get me wrong I found many dresses I liked, but none that I HAD to have. My fiancé (now husband) and I also had not had our venue or anything related to the wedding booked because every time we caught our breath, there was a new variant of COVID-19 lurking. Needless to say, I was feeling defeated and hopeless when my sister suggested we go to A'dor Couture. I mean, I had tried on literally every style of dress put on creation's ground and scoured every wedding dress on Pinterest and Instagram. What would one more shopping experience do for me except to frustrate me? I also was pretty confident that there was no way I could choose a dress when I didn't even know what country or climate I would be getting married in. We had wanted a destination wedding but was that even possible with everything going on anymore?
Well, I guess it was. I went into A'dor Couture and the dresses were beautiful. I figured I'd make the best of it since my family was willing to go shopping with me again. That was nice of them considering how many dress try-ons I made them sit through already. I tried on some beautiful designs of Dorota's. I was very impressed at what she had to offer: bespoke wedding gowns. For a bride like me who is NOT indecisive and just knows what she wants (which is all the things) and is not willing to settle (for less than all the things), this was a dream. I found THE dress. It was beautiful as is but the amazing part was that I got to have it customized to my liking. Loved the dress but had always envisioned myself in a strapless gown? DONE. Wanted the option of removable straps? DONE. Wanted options to create different looks for my dress to give the appearance of an outfit change? DONE. Wish the train were longer? DONE. Wish the dress had pearls? WISH GRANTED. I got to create my dream dress with a designer who was so willing to work with me and listen to what I wanted. She perfectly understood my vision and my dress was all of the things I wanted.
I made a decision that very day after 40+ dresses. And then the decisions flowed. I called my fiancé that day and told him I found the dress and it was time to start planning everything else. We decided to move forward with our destination wedding and booked our venue that same day. We threw all caution to the wind because the dress was that damn good. It didn't matter that I lived in the South. I flew to my dress fittings in CT happily because this dress was so worth it and if I have children, I hope I can pass this dress on to them.
My wedding day has come and gone and I wish I had the opportunity to wear it again. It was just so right for me. So do yourself a favor. Whether you're a particular bride like me or you already know exactly what you want, go find Dorota at A'dor Couture and get the dress of your dreams. You won't regret it and you will have the most amazing experience!!! I love Dorota!

I won't lie, part of me was dreading the whole wedding dress shopping experience because of prior misconceptions that were further engrained by wedding stereotypes presented in the media. A family friend, however, recommended that my mom and I check out A'dor Couture in Southport; I will be forever thankful for that recommendation.
I was a bit nervous at first because my wedding date was coming up quickly, yet I still had not found the perfect dress. I made an appointment with the boutique and upon our arrival, my mom, maid of honor and I were very impressed with the way A'dor Couture looked. We were instantly made to feel at home in our surroundings and everything was kept to high safety standards- in terms of the awful Covid epidemic that has befallen the world.
Upon meeting the owner/designer, Dorota, and seeing how passionate she was about her craft, I knew that this was the woman I wanted to create my wedding dress. Dorota's designs are very captivating and unique all the while remaining very timeless and classic. I knew that I personally wanted something with a Bohemian, yet Old Hollywood feel and their were so many options that met my specific parameters.
Honestly, all the dresses she showed us were incredibly well thought out in design and function, but I finally tried on one of her Fall 2020 designs and it was absolutely perfect. When I looked at myself in the mirror-- I knew this dress was the one. Dorota told us that she was able to customize any of her designs. so I was able to add on long sleeves and a closed back to her already beautiful wedding dress template.
I truly never thought I would actually find my absolute dream dress, but Polish/American Designer, Dorota, made it happen and was able to get everything done in time for my Halloween wedding date. I will forever be thankful to Dorota and Expert Seamstress Theresa for making my wedding dress...
Read moreI had the best experience. Prior to my wedding, I was living in Europe. I had gone to different boutiques all over Europe an the UK. I am not typically picky, but regarding my wedding dress I knew exactly what I wanted - a stunning princess (not cupcake poof) traditional wedding dress that accentuated my petite figure without drowning me in it. I wanted delicate lace for the waist up and the rich satin for the skirt. Dorota was amazing. She made my dream dress come to life. Rather than paying a couple thousand at a store for a mediocre dress (in my eyes) that still would require alterations etc, I got to create my own personalized wedding dress with Dorota. She was patient with me and made me feel like I was in safe hands the whole way through. She is easy to contact. Everything was always thoroughly explained, and make each decision step by step from the material used to sewed in sleeves or detachable ones. Everyone at my wedding told me I looked stunning - and not in a way to be nice because thats the thing to say, but genuinely told me they had never seen such a gorgeous dress that looked as if it was sewn onto me because of how perfectly it laid on my body at every angle. Even days after the wedding (when no professional pictures had been yet displayed), I was being messaged by women I have never met who had seen my dress through friends' phone photos or had heard about it and wanted to know where I had got it from. My dress was, and 6 weeks later, is still the talk of the town. Cannot recommend A'Dor Couture by...
