The only reason I’m giving it 2 stars was because the food was great, but me and my son went there and had a table outside that was dirty so I asked for something to clean the table and they gave me wipes and honestly I feel that one of the staff should of been out there to do so but after I clean off the table my son has to use the bathroom “he’s 2” so we go to the bathroom than go back to our table and there’s others sitting at our table, so I say something and the lady at the table and she is pretty much like oh well.. Now I go back inside and say something to a worker and she just smiles at me and says you can sit inside if you like.. If I wanted to sit inside I would of originally sat inside.. they do nothing at all so we just sat inside and I was just getting aggravated at this point because of the table situation so I grab my son and we tell the lady that we we’d just like to take our order to go, and the other worker that was chatting with her gave a weird look and the other one tells one of the guys in the kitchen to make it to go and he looks at me and my son and sucks his teeth and roles his eyes and I noticed so I told the girl why is he mad and she just laughs.. this was my first and most likely my last time coming to this location and it sucks because again the food was a 10/10 me and my son really enjoyed it.. but I refuse to spend money in a place where workers are miserable and workers don’t help when your having a issue.. I could of just went to McDonald’s if I wanted this kind...
Read moreLove, love, love this place!! Whether we eat at the 77th St or 116th St, (or Westport location out in CT), the burgers are consistently delicious, and the fries are just the way we like them. It is more expensive than your typical fast food burger place, but the flavors are better and quality is worth a few more bucks.
We love the custard as well, and I am nearly addicted to the peanut butter milkshakes. The one missing star is for two reasons. First, they don't have a kids size custard portion available on the menu. I'm always asking a slightly confused looking cashier for their smallest scoop of vanilla custard for my daughter who only wants vanilla with rainbow sprinkles or strawberry ice cream alone these days. The scoop they give me is then always a bit too much for her. They needs a smaller kids size portion of their dessert items!
And Second reason: if they could keep BBQ sauce as a burger topping all year round, and stop treating it like a delicacy, they would get all five stars. So many places serving burgers or chicken in the northern US look at you like you're crazy when you ask about BBQ sauce! It should always be an option for burgers (and without a mark up in cost - I'm looking at you Harlem Food Bar and Harlem Shake!)!
So while I love shake shack, as of now, I know there is a deadline, and soon the current burger with BBQ sauce and other yummy things will be gone leaving me with only boring ketchup or having to carry around my own BBQ when I know we are going...
Read moreI usually have a good experience at this location, I maybe come here once a year on my way through CT but I arrived there at 845 and they said the dining room was closed because they close at 10 pm. so I had to order take out, the employee seemed to have an attitude and seemed angry, She reluctantly took my order and I received the first text that my order was In. I never received the second text so finally I had to go and ask about my food 25 minutes later. She asked my name then she got mad when somebody else ordered takeout and then disappeared for another 20 minutes. Meanwhile I noticed there was a rack with about 8 orders on it by the door. The parking lot was almost empty so I was really confused on the long wait. She comes out and hands me a bag that was on the rack for at least 20 minutes I noticed earlier and got mad when I wanted ketchup. She slammed the ketchup in my bag of cold food and walked away. It costed over $20 and the food was inedible so I had to throw it away. I understand there is a pandemic and there may be employee shortages but there was no fewer that 5 employees I could see and virtually no customers. I went to a local shake shack to me a few weeks ago and had outstanding service. I...
