Hungarian Meat Market — Local services in Fairfield

Droto's Bros. owned the store for years and had fresh, store smoked and store prepared meats, including rice hurka rings. Everything was always delicious and FRESH!

So, we tried the Hungarian Meat Market and we are sorry to say that we recently bought two "rings" of hurka - one blood, one "white," and frankly, they were FROZEN, and when defrosted and fried? YEECH!!!!! I swear those hurkas have been frozen for a long time - I removed the casing from the blood hurka to find a layer of hardened meat - it was disgusting! There was a distinctive rancid fat taste as well as notable FREEZER BURN so we had to throw it away! NOT GOOD! NOT RECOMMENDED for hurka!! Really - shouldn't sell stuff like that to...

We've been shopping here for at least 12 years, starting with their old Manhattan location and now whenever we are in CT we make a point of stopping by. We recommend the biscuits, fried pork rinds, fried duck skin ( when they have it ), meatloaf, dry sausages, poppy seed pastry. And this is just a fraction of the good things they have at the store. And it's always a treat to see...

Best smoked meats in Fairfield County! Old school store, nothing updated nor flashy, no bells and whistles.. just excellent products every single time. If you love kielbasa, bacon, frankfurters, Canadian bacon.. this is your market! I tried the home made sauerkraut and it did not disappoint! Good service from behind the counter too....
