I used Southern Veranda for my November 13th wedding. I am honestly writing this lengthy review 100% based on how I have been treated by this company. If I had been treated with the same respect that I gave Carl, they would have never heard from me again.
My blush and black themed wedding was supposed to have predominately blush flowers in all of the arrangements. Unfortunately they had flowers arrive on their end that were unusable. Well, without any notice to myself they chose to substitute my entire table center pieces for white flowers. (Not including the bouquets, which had some minimal blush tones) I was also missing a few key things, such as the peonies I paid extra for in my bride bouquet, and the greenery on my welcome table that never arrived. After bringing it to their attention the next day that I did not get what I had paid for. The owner of the shop, Carl got very aggressive with me about it. I had asked to only communicate via email, for documentation purposes and he concluded that he was not sorry for the substitution that “had” to be made, and that they did not contact me before the wedding to give me a heads up that my flowers would all be wrong, because they “did not want to bother me”. After spending nearly $2800 with this establishment, anyone would expect a phone call if they aren’t going to get what they paid for. My planner then stated that she would expect some kind of refund just as a curtesy for not following through on their commitment. They chose a business where they only get one chance to make it right. That was of course denied. I believe that the flowers I received were beautiful, however not at all what I had requested. I of course understood that they still spent time and money on the arrangements I did receive, but there is no excuse for the total lack of communication. After letting the owner Carl Clark know that I would be working with my bank at this point moving forward. He lied about myself, and my coordinator to my bank, in which I have the exact print out of his claims. I can’t believe that the man who owns this company has been able to be in business for 30 years with the absolute nastiness he says about his clients. He stated that my in-laws told him “not to call the bride because the bride would either be verbally abusive or just hang up” I can promise you that I have never even wrote a somewhat negative review about a single company in my life, but this man Carl Clark does not deserve your business. He will only lie about you and treat you horribly if you do not rave about everything that comes out of his shop. Did you know that in 30 years, I am apparently only the second person to have ever complained? That must be the greatest company satisfaction rate eve.
As proof to my claims, I am posting pictures of my center pieces and my bouquets. Clearly seeing where the center pieces had no pink or blush tones at all. And my bouquets had little to none. Please do yourself a favor, and consider looking into some other florists in the...
Read moreLong distance relationships are hard. And Love in the Time of Covid is not a story in which I figured I'd feature, but yet...here we are. So when I wanted to send flowers to my effulgent beloved from here in the frozen wilds of eastern Canada I turned to Southern Veranda. Carmen took my order over the phone, chatted about options, and filled out my card for me. The service was perfect. She asked when my Southern Belle (what's the Alabama version of a Georgia peach? An Alabama Hushpuppy? Alabama Camellia? Baldwin County Chick n' Waffle? No idea....someone help) finished work for the day and ensured those flowers would arrive before she left. Long story short, my love is happy and overjoyed with the flowers; I'm happy and overjoyed with the service and great pricing; and Carmen is obviously happy and overjoyed because she was so friendly and helpful.
If you want flowers in the Fairhope area, Southern Veranda is the place to go. You'll be glad you did, and whoever receives the flowers you send will be too. Top shelf...

And that's what hurt the most o told the rude lady that took my order I wanted a huge pretty bouquet I spent $120 to ensure it. This looks like a $29 bouquet that you get out of Winn-Dixie...this place will not get my...
