The Ravenite Pizzeria — Restaurant in Fairhope

Arrived before the lunch rush on a Saturday so it wasn't very busy. The fried mushrooms we ordered were delicious, and the pizza we ordered (the special) was loaded with toppings and very tasty. I do wish the crust was a little thicker because if you're not careful everything will flop over and the toppings will fall off the pizza. That being said, the service sucked. Things gradually got busier as you'd expect during a Saturday lunch time, but the server never checked on us. He'd just drop food and run off. He never refilled our drinks. We had to flag him down to ask for boxes and a check. He didn't divide the check even tho it was obviously 2 couples at the table. Never brought the boxes, my husband had to go grab some off their counter. I had to stop him to then take the card to run it because at that point we'd been there almost 2 hours, mainly due to waiting on the waiter (because food came out fairly timely). Would have been a good experience had the waiter actually done his job. At another point my son dropped his sippy cup while a different waitress was on her way to clean a table next to us. She stepped OVER his cup to get to where she was going, so the waiting patron she was helping picked it up for him. Like come, on seriously? I have come to this pizzeria for the last couple years every time my family comes on vacation to Fairhope. The food is always great as well as the service. This review isn’t a complaint about the service or the food quality, but the MANAGEMENT. During my visit a COCKROACH FELL FROM THE CEILING five minutes after we sat down on the table, alive. The restaurant staff never came over to handle the ROACH while we requested a manager (who never came to apologize or handle the situation). When the time came to pay for the bill there was ZERO discount for our food when the bill should’ve AT LEAST been 50% off. Again we asked for a MANAGER who never ended up talking to us. Very unprofessional and if anything our waitress was the most professional person in the building and far more respectful than anyone else. We sent the bill back surprised we got no discount on the bill and the restaurant decided to give us a TEN PERCENT discount taking $8 off of our order. We will not be coming back to this restaurant as it is extremely obvious their customer service is not a concern whatsoever especially when roaches are falling from...

I have always heard how wonderful the pizza is.... Unfortunately for me once I got home it was clearly burnt not well done BURNT.... The portions that were not burnt were absolutely delicious.... I came in with a Box in my hand and was aggressively approached and Asked what's in the Box... Startled... I asked why I was told I could not eat that in here I explained I had no intention to eat it in the restaurant .....I had no idea what the server was talking about we just had dinner next door and we're getting a pizza to take home.... It was as if we committed a crime....We probably should have walked out at that point but we decided to stay ....the server did explain his unfortunate experience of what many people do ....the problem with that is we had no intention to do such a thing and by making a very strong assumption I was offended and felt devalued as a customer ..what should have happened simply was allow one to order and then see if the customer will eat out of it or come over take our order and then somewhere in the discussion say oh by the way unfortunately our policy says you...
