Reply to response from owner (at bottom): The barista poured water from a plastic bottle into my cup to make an Americano two days ago. That was after my first cup was made regular when I asked for decaf. I asked her if there was a water filtration system and she said no. She said tap or bottled water only.
Also, I went in for the celebration anniversary, and I waited 40 minutes for a burger and fries. My dog was outside in the car, and so I check on him quickly twice. Luckily, it wasn't that hot outside. The waiter came to my table when I was checking and did not deliver my food even though my number was there. I had to wait for another burger and fries. My poor dog. The burger buns were cheap store bought and the beef was cheap and not very good tasting. The fries were good, however.
Hear ye, hear ye, Fairhope's water is unsafe. Why, you ask? Because Chinese powder is dumped into it, under the auspices of being "fluoride." Big mistake to trust a country that is on the verge of something not unlike a major conflict with the U.S. of A, and which was at least indirectly responsible for the biggest health-related crisis in American history.
No, said fluoride in question is not pharma grade. Yes, it is the byproduct of heavy industry involving the cleaning of fertilizer tanks in huge sprawling factories.
But wait, what else could be hiding in those sacks sent here from overseas, stamped conspicuously with a bio hazard warning? Well, it's anyone's guess because the City of Fairhope refuses to run tests on bags of China powder that it dumps into our water, other than to verify fluoride levels.
Now, call me crazy, but it is my opinion that an establishment which spent hundreds and hundreds of dollars on each lighting fixture might be troubled to spend a small fraction of that amount on a proper water filtration system for one of the main reasons customer's venture into its premises: namely, the coffee.
I happen to know that a rather small, inconspicuous coffee house by the name of "Refuge" does indeed have an admirable water filtration system to ensure the continued good health of its customers.
The time has come for Provision to follow in the footsteps of establishments such as Refuge, which quite obviously care more for the health of their customers than Provision apparently does. Because the water used in places like Refuge filters out whatever China might be shipping over here in its sacks with bio hazard symbols stamped on them.
DRINKING fluoride has NEVER been shown to reduce cavities; only BRUSHING with fluoride has been shown to help with this problem.
That's right: not even one proper, double-blind study has proved how drinking industrial waste (aka "fluoride") is a worthy substitute for brushing with pharma-grade high quality fluoride in most toothpaste brands. There is zero scientific proof that ingesting pharma grade fluoride, much less the cheap industrial waste, reduces cavities by strengthening tooth enamel.
Ironically, many tubes of toothpaste contain warnings that if one were to swallow a "pea sized" amount of toothpaste, then poison control should be contacted immediately (because of the amount of fluoride in the pea-sized amount of toothpaste).
Furthermore, the amount of pharma-grade high quality fluoride contained in a pea-sized amount of toothpaste is roughly equivalent to the amount of industrial waste-caliber fluoride found in an eight ounce glass of municipal drinking water.
It's also worth mentioning that 99% of all European countries not only avoid adding this farce masquerading as "fluoride" to their...
Read moreI love the atmosphere in Provision. It can be a little more hectic during a civic event such as Mardi Gras, Fairhope Arts & Crafts Festival, or First Fridays, but even then the staff will try to tend to each person and are very polite. Plus, they are great about having enough people to help customers during events, which has got to be a challenge.
But, for me, as a local, I enjoy it mostly when I need a breather. I work from home and I love to just go to get tea or coffee. My favorite treat is to order their chicken salad with crackers. Today I ordered the Oreo Latte too. That latté was worth the calories. Now, I have always hated chicken salad, but I love Provision's chicken salad. Their salad is so fresh. I always ask for the crackers, because that is how they served them to me the first time. The crackers add the perfect crunch with the fresh finely chopped celery.
This place reminds me of a very calm version of Carpé Diem in Mobile, Alabama, which is my favorite all time coffee shop.
Also, I love that they write a positive message on your cup. I always think it's nice when your cup is...
Read moreLOVE Provision! This location in Downtown Fairhope, AL is a great spot for many different occasions and needs. You can have breakfast & lunch until 2PM; plus wine and cocktails all in one place, plus browse neat trinkets and treasures in the market.
Absolutely love the Avocado West Indies Toast. The flavor of the West Indies Salad is perfect and not overpowered with vinegar. West Indies salad is a native dish in south Alabama and something you must try if you see it on a menu!
The Harvest Bowl is also wonderful, especially if you may have someone who prefers a Vegan or Vegetarian dish. You can remove the grilled chicken and create the ultimate Vegan bowl!
We visited in the Summer on a Friday, so of course we also had to take advantage of Frose Friday! You can enjoy a slushy wine drink that will quench your thirst on a hot day.
Service is excellent. Ambiance is great. You really can't miss Provision if you're in Fairhope!
Can't wait until...
