The Fall River Carousel — Local services in Fall River

We are not from the area. The only reason I found out about this place, is because a nice woman came up to me and asked me if I was there to learn about Fall River. I said my family and I are here to see the ships. She smiled and said "Enjoy, don't forget to visit the indoor carousel." I walked past it, but had she not said anything to me, I would have figured this building to be closed. It is seriously under-utilized. The downstairs is empty. Tables and chairs are bare. There appears to be somewhat of a snackbar counter, again, bare. All the doors near the seating are closed and locked with signs saying not to open the doors. Do they ever open these up? It's such a shame this looks so forgotten. Signs saying paying customers only can use the bathroom. Water bubbler that shoots to the ceiling. The carousel itself was okay. Some broken things, again, with signs stuck to said items. Appeared to have at least 2 staff members but no one was riding the carousel. Just some people sitting around. It's pretty and magical for kids. My daughter had fun on the short ride. I have to wonder if this place...

I saw past reviews and thought they were very particular about an amazing piece of obscure history that's still functioning! The location is super unique and for someone who is obsessed with carousels and amusements, we thought it was well worth a quick stop while in Fall River. We found quick parking and the building was pretty obvious with the spinning lights visible on the second floor. The elevator and restrooms were functional, and the stairs were very reminiscent of a public school, nothing scary that we saw! Sure some updates would be nice but we were so amazed to see such a beautiful carousel functioning and to see battleships out the window and a pair of swans, we'll, that seems like that experience will never be duplicated! Pro tip bring cash for the carousel and ice cream, and there's a pressed penny machine next door. What a cool place to visit on a...
