My Mom wanted to put carpet in the living room, dinning room and hallway. She wanted to go to the Carpet Barn as another place she went to she didn't like the women's attitude. We were warmly greeted by Bill Gasson. He was extremely helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. He brought the samples to my Mom as she has some mobility issues. His attitude during this entire process was very refreshing. It was a joy working with him. Buzzy who schedules the install was just as great. He worked with us to get this scheduled and done while I was still here visiting my parents. I really wanted to be here to coordinate the installation and make sure we got shelving and other furniture unloaded. My parents are elderly and can't move the furniture themselves and I could only move small things. So we paid to have the furniture moved for us. It was really worth it for them to do this for us!! The morning of the installation they were here early. I spoke to them while they were still in their van. I told them we are the house you are looking for. Since they were early they asked if we were ready for them? We were, so they came in and got started. I showed them the furniture that they were moving. Unfortunately it was raining lightly so we were concerned about where all the furniture would go. My parents do have a garage but it is pretty full and a small sun room that had a little space. Before they started moving the furniture a video of the room was taken to help identify were the furniture was placed. They worked quickly and efficiently moving the furniture out and it was all stored in a safe manner. They pulled up the combination of old carpet and area rugs. Not sure how long they had been on the floor. Let's just say MANY years!! The dirt and stuff that had accumulated was immense!! They swept the floors and put it a trash bag that they took with them. They were polite, professional and efficient. After getting the tack strips secured and the padding down they told me they were going back to pickup the carpet and should be back in about 30 minutes. Upon returning they hauled the big heavy carpet in and worked on unrolling it and getting it moved around so they could install the carpet as one long piece in the living room dinning room area. Let me tell you it was not an easy job to muscle it around. I was highly impressed, not only with how they had to maneuver the carpet but the quality of the work, and their overall work ethic. I believe the two young men doing the install for us were Marlin and Alberto. After the carpet was installed, they vacuumed and started moving the furniture back inside. I did help guide them as to where the items went. When they were done I had my parents come out of the room I had them sequestered in so they could see the finished product and if any of the furniture needed to be moved around some. Of course it needed a little tweaking!! But Marlin and Alberto cheerful did as they requested. When they left you would not have known they had been there as they cleaned up everything including all the old nasty carpet. The only telling sign they had been here is the new wonderfully installed carpet. We are so thrilled with the new carpet! I sent pictures to some family members and they can't believe the difference and can't wait to see it in person. I can't recommend Carpet Barn enough!! If you need any job done they are who you need to see. I still can't say enough positive things about Bill, Buzzy, Marlin and Alberto!! Job well done from...
Read moreOrdered carpet for two bedrooms and two stairways in my newly purchased vacant condo. They did not replace the downstairs bedroom carpet and said they made a mistake. It would cost me a few thousand dollars more to do the other bedroom! Paid that and then they did not carpet the closet as requested with the left over carpet from the first job. It was sitting out in the vacant living room but they could not find it! This is a small condo. Unbelievable errors and delays. Do not recommend!
Addendum: Their response below is regarding ANOTHER problem with my basement luxury vinyl flooring (work done at the same time as above) that pulled apart during the winter leaving a gap in a narrow entryway. Their proposed solution was to attempt to move the flooring together and glue it where the gap is. I was advised by another contractor that this would not be a permanent solution so the gap remains. I should note that they only responded to my concerns after my initial post here....and then have been harassing me to take down my review.....be cautious using...
Read moreWe returned to Carpet Barn for assistance with replacement of residential carpeting that they had provided for us many years ago. While selecting carpeting, the showroom assistance and technical information that we received from Bill Gasson was very helpful. Thereafter, Bill shepherded coordination of field measurement in our home and the placement of our actual order. We were kept informed as to progress of delivery and installation scheduling throughout. On the day of our install, the three-person crew arrived right on time; completed the removal process in a very organized way; and proceeded to install the five rooms plus a stairway of new carpet/pad in just over six hours work. We could not have been happier with the organized manner in which the installers completed their work, including careful furniture moves and leaving our home in spotless, perfect condition. We would highly recommend Carpet Barn without reservation; all aspects of our entire experience could not have been better in any...
