The PEOPLE at this location are great. Ed bent over backwards to meet my needs, and even arranged 'priority' alterations on a suit. I had orderd a suit through their website, that was not as advertised. I brought it in, for exchange, and Ed found an alternative- which took a few days. The alternative had some issues as well,, so we took a differnent approach- found a product on the rack that was acceptable, and then orderd it in in the correct size. Another week... Then finishing and alteration time.... Ed was able to make some calls to the alterations facility, in Atlanta, and made arrangements to have the work done in an acceptable and accelerated timeline. He put in the effort, and produced results.
The downside.... it IS a corperate chain store, with policies and procedures that may not be conductive to a perfect, great customer experiance. Fair to good values can be had if you shop their "sales" which occure with no ryhme or reason. Full price is pretty steep for the quality level. Expect a few weeks for alterations- and, as I was suprised to find out, not included in the purchase price.... $60+ for hems, sleeve adjustments, and letting the jacket out .... the on site "tailor" is more of a seamstress, capable of simple tasks, but not complex ones. The corporation has regional "hubs" for more complex work.
If you need a suit for a specific event, plan ahead, a bare minimum of 30 days out, 45 is probably better, 60 is probalbly safe, especially if you order from their website... if all goes well, expect 2 weeks- plus order and delivery time if applicable, for finishing and alteration, as it needs to be sent out. IF what is ordered is incorrect, they'll make it right- but its time consuming if a solution isn't on the rack. By the time I get my suit next week, I'll have made 4 trips to the store- about the number of visits required for a bespoke garment on the Row, though the latter is a 3-6 month process- and $6k...
The PEOPLE, service and effort at this location are 5 star, all day long. One couldn't ask for or expect better service. The CORPORATION is mediocre, 3 star, maybe a little better... hence the 4 star review. The company offers quality products at a fair to very good price point- on sale. As with any large company, the structure and policies can be cumbersome, but may be able to be worked around. This is where the people come in. At this location, the manager Ed is top shelf, as is Gerone (sp?). The latter was polite and gracious during a phone conversation during which I allowed my frustration to be directed at him. He was also very gracious when I apologized to him in person a few days later.
Very good people, good products, and...
Read moreSunday, July 24 2022 Today I had the opportunity to visit Jos A. Bank in search of a dark grey suit. When I entered, I was immediately greeted by one their great staff. After briefly browsing, I was once again greeted and asked if there was anything they could do to assist me. I do want to say that I did take the time to do some research prior to my arrival just in case Jos A. Bank was busy and unable to provide immediate assistance. That was not the case at this particular Fayetteville NC location. Unknown to me at the time, I was greeted and thoroughly assisted by Ed Jackson; store manager. I’m thankful I familiarized myself with a chosen color because that information was vital to establishing the working relationship between Mr. Jackson and I. Before Mr. Ed Jackson directed me to the suits, he took the time to get my exact measurements. I want to mention that because that should absolutely be the first step in this process. Once measurements were complete, Mr. Jackson directed me their “travel” selection which I highly recommend taking a look at. Mr. Jackson and staff are highly knowledgeable and will take the time to explain the differences between selections to assist in your decision making. By this point, I was confident and looking forward to working with Mr. Jackson. I want to point out that during my fitting, Mr. Jackson was there to assess and provide recommendations. Having their assistance “immediately” after trying on the suit showed a level of care. Thank you again for that Mr. Jackson. One key question that Mr. Jackson asked me was “what’s the occasion that you plan to wear your suit?” I replied and he acknowledged with “you want to look as serious and professional as possible.” As soon as we identified the proper suit fitting, Mr. Jackson already had the perfect shirt with tie combination laid out . Of course feel free to ask questions but Mr. Jackson took the initiative to explain why he made that particular selection. One additional comment I want to make about my experience. I’m not from the local Fayetteville area and I currently don’t have a tailor at my new location. With that being said, Mr Jackson took the time to place me in a pair of shoes with my suit back on so he could make the markings for any tailor to assist. That was going above and beyond my initial expectations. I just want to say thank you again to Mr. Jackson and staff for my suit...
Read moreStarted out a s a good experience that has spiraled into a nightmare. I brought my son into the the Fayetteville, NC store to purchase his first suit and start to build his wardrobe. Usually a great experience for a young man and his father. We purchased $2,000 worth of items in the store in a single day, which for Fayetteville standard is assuredly high. As I was departing for a wedding two weeks from the date of purchase I was assured and guaranteed that the items would be delivered and tailored and cleaned prior to departure.
As I showed to have my fitting and pick up my suit I was informed that the suit had not been processed by the attendant, and had not moved a single inch since my initial measuring. As this is Monday and I am departing on Thursday I inform the manager that I was guaranteed these items would be ready to go and assured not to worry. He then information me that he has made promises to other clients and they will not be able to ready my items and suit prior to Thursday. In other words, his other clients assurances outweighed mine. This has turned into a complete nightmare and leaves me looking like an idiot for a wedding that I was preparing for for months.
I have contacted the corporate office and will be demanding the commision from $2000 returned from the attendant. I would never purchase anything in this store ever again and hope this helps another from making the same mistake.
I'll be returning all it's purchased and working with another ...
