They give no details of what to expect, deliberately and directly eviscerate all of your data WITHOUT TELLING YOU, then blame you for not knowing they were going to delete all your files, when you were just trying to figure out what happened to your laptop.
When going to a prospective computer butcher consider and ask: - will your data be erased? (If so, wait months if you have to and go to a trusted repair shop; use a substitute device until you can find a good repair shop while keeping your data safe). -Will your computer get the same operating system installed so you don't have to build everything from ground zero? -Will they have a cord for you to check your computer at pick up? -If they delete all your data will you be expected to pay? Will they force an installation of an OS you don't want "because it is good for you" or allow you to keep your original data and OS? When you pick up the computer after they work on it, will it be the same in appearance and apps you have already and settings?
Upon my next day edit if i could give minus 10 stars I would. Keep your computers and your sanity away from these heartless, thoughtless GASLIGHTING computer butchers that I now think that they actually enjoy causing excruciating agony to customers, while gloating, crying crocodile tears saying "sorry, sorry, sorry", smiling inside.
Want to loose your all data and them to blame you? Want to have your laptop hostage because the computer guy called out sick when you plan to pick up? Want to give out your computer password to strangers that don't know how to fix computers? Want to be blamed because the computer people expect you to read their mind even though you tell them over and over you don't know computers or how repair shop situations go?
My computer crashed and the $50 diagnosis fee here looked reasonable compared to other places. TheyBreakUloseEVERYTHING never told me they wipe the data off the computer. When I expressed worry about my data being looked through, to the guy working the front failed to mention all my data on my computer, all my career documentation and pending projects, my medical records, my family genealogy records, important documents and who knows what else would be deleted BY them.
After I discovered this when I asked for a refund they told me I should have expected to lose everything. They never mentioned my data would be deleted by them nor did they suggest I try to retrieve the data using another service. I would have gone somewhere else to get my data back before installing a new operating system thereby killing the last four years of my digital lifes' work.
At drop off, they begin the scam, saying they have all power cords yet when you pick it up you can't test your laptop (because they strategically have you keep your cord SEPARATE from your computer as you left it at HOME, not with the computer) so you cannot see how they messed your computer up before you pay. We pay a ridiculous amount because a computer repair shops' DUTY is to INFORM the newbie customer.
This is not just poor service; this feels like they brutally m@rdered four years of my digital life and then blame me for not knowing this is what they would do; I had asked what to expect and they failed to inform me yet I had paid them a premium price to be my guide in this endeavor.
I don't want to hear any feedback from the manager or owner; Ashely, you failed to have the guts to show your face when I was there talking to your employee today so zip it. And continuing to blame me here or saying "sorry" is completely inadequate for the evisceration of the past four years of my life that you just destroyed. This was unnecessary. I could have been told "go find someone that REALLY knows computers to retrieve the data and THEN we can overcharge you for a new OS." But no. You had to k1ll the past four years of my digital life.
If we WERE computer experts, we in the first place would be installing a new operating system ourselves for $20 off amazon.
Avoid this place...

Read moretried these folks two times. first instance: I attempted to reduce the noise in my ps4 pro by changing out the thermal paste myself. i ended up bending a component. the were able to unbend the component, but forgot to put thermal paste on the processor themselves, so until I could get it back to them it was remarkably louder than Ps4 pros are already known for. I was of course charged separately for this service.
second instance: i take my daughter's laptop in because some componet of the power port is loose and everytime the cord moves it stops charging for an instant. their tech informs me he has the same laptop and this isn't a problem worth fixing. fine. after getting it home we discover that now the screen goes black for an instant instead of just momentarily not charging. june 25, we discover the laptop no longer even boots. I call about this and am told by whoever answered that a wiggling power cord can short the motherboard. Then why was this not a problem worth fixing the first time?! they tell me bring it by and they'll see what they can do. then someone else there calls me back, I explain again what is happening now and that it wasn't happening before we took it there the first time. I also I am told their tech had no problems and again(!) that wiggling the power cord can short the motherboard.
NO ONE IS ACTIVELEY WIGGLING THE POWER CORD. power cords move as laptops move and part of the point of laptops is they move.
I will be taking my...
