Red Lobster in Fayetteville, Ar rewards it's managers like Debra who steal from the customers by writing in her own tips by keeping her job. My wife in I came into the restaurant 12-30-18 to use a $50 gift card that my brother got for me for my birthday. we got Debra as our waitress, an uneventful meal to be sure, but when it came time to total out or order dessert we ordered dessert a brownie overboard. Debra asked if we would like anything else and I said that I would like another cranberry boston iced tea. she informed me incorrectly that there was a limit on refills for boston iced teas. I patron this place enough to know that is wrong. so we get the check and against my better judgement i wrote 0.00 in the tip line instead of a dash to signal no tip. I went to confirm with a manager about the boston iced teas and spoke with Verna she informed Debra was wrong and she would let her know. no big deal she did not get a tip as a result of her lying ways. 12-30-18 I checked my bank account which I do frequently and saw I got charged 14.25 instead of the 4.25 it should have been without tip. so I go back in that evening of the 30th and speak with Verna about being stolen from by Debra. Verna dug my receipt out and confirmed with me that it was mine. I was shocked to see a 1 slashed in hastily next to the 0.00 in the tip line and a 1 added to the total line. Debra a manager wrote in her own tip. Verna reimbursed me the $10 and gave me a $20 gift card and said they would take care of the problem. Fast Forward today 1-5-19 and my wife and I patron this Red Lobster again. we got good service from Nate and as we were leaving I had to go to the restroom. upon my exit from the restroom i see Debra clearly working still. so confused I wait at the hostess podium to talk with a manager. Debra stands there as I stand there and I was hoping I would not have to converse with a THIEF, but no one else was around so she asked if I had been helped. I said no I needed to speak with a manager. She said ok and walked around from the hostess podium. I was shocked that not only is a THIEF still working here that she is a manager that does not know her own refill policies. So I asked her if she waited on me the 29th she confirmed. I said oh so you're a manager now? She confirmed. I said a manager that writes in their own tips? she denied that she stole money from me and I corrected her she did. she asked if I would like to speak with another manager and I said yes please. well out walks the GM Jacob. I proceed to inform him why I am furious as to the fact that a manager that does not know their own policies regarding refills, who steals from customers and lies to their face when confronted still has her job, because the norm is to fire an employee who is stealing from the company or a customer. GM Jacob said they handled it on there end and did not fire her or had any intentions of firing her because and I quote Mr. Jacob here "it was her first offense". Now, basically everything else was just unacceptable since RED LOBSTER used to be the go to spot for going out to eat at a nice place yeeaaars ago. When you're waiting on line outside/ inside sitting down by the 🦞 tank, you know the place is good. NOT the case in the last 10yrs at least. I knew waiters & waitresses that would bring home on average of $600 -$1000 a night in tips! Now, the place is DEAD, we went to dinner this Friday (which was ALWAYS packed) & only 5 tables present, atmosphere was dark & dingy, it smelled HORRIBLE upon entry due to what looked like the ORIGINAL carpets & lobster tank area, no greeting at door by manager, (one of red lobsters policies) more asphalt looking stains where servers bring the food out, cobwebs & built up dust throughout, food was ehhh & a posted note on the bus cart that caught my 8 & 11 year old kids attention was not something that we expected. Pictures below DO NOT give it justice fyi. I bet the other red lobsters are carrying this place & at this continued rate, the doors will close SOON unless management & or owners wake up & pay attention to what should matter. Read moreVery bad waiter and terrible manager on duty. Family and I are very upset on how everything was handled. Our waiter did not place our party of 5 orders correct. We waited about 45 minutes to begin with to get our orders out. When it did, another waiter which was very nice had just half the order placed came out which was just 2 ultimate feast half of a surf and turf. She was nice and said she was going to check on it for us. Waited about another 45 before we decided to close our tab as our original waiter kept ignoring us and serving other tables. Walked to the front and ask to speak with a manager. Let him know how we only got half our order and how we had waited almost 2 hours. He gave us a “friends and family” discount which was honestly nothing. When I get my receipt, we were being charged for food/ drinks we did not order. Asked to speak with the manager again. Told him how we didn’t appreciate the wait how we were being over charged for food we did not order AND did not receive, he said “ i gave you guys a friends and family discount. I don’t know what else you want me to do” which was every unprofessional. We paid for an order that was “ready” and got another discount and ask for it to go and the order was still incomplete!
