Vintage Stock is one of the few corporate businesses I genuinely like. First, they sell hard copies of music, movies, and TV shows. Many of these CDs, DVDs, and Blu-ray discs are "red tagged" and sold at a low price because they are pre-owned. They have "Buy two, get one free" sales for red-tagged items. They also sell new hard copies of these items as well as comic books, posters, and memorabilia.
To maintain their red-tagged stock, they buy pre-owned items. Also, one of their most popular practices is that they buy gift cards (from anywhere, I think) for the dollar amount on each card.
The staff is extremely helpful. Their entire stock is electronically compiled, so staff can look up an item for you to see if it is in the store. Also, they can access other Vintage Stock locations to see if another store has a title that they don't, and they offer to have the item shipped to their location so you don't have to travel to get it.
Finally, Vintage Stock has an app available allowing shoppers access to the same information the stores have, and people can request items beshipped from other Vintage Stock branches to their local store, usually within three days of the request.
I love Vintage Stock because they have hard copies of movies and music (both new and pre-owned), weekend sales on red-tagged items for every holiday from Halloween to Labor Day, daily bargains, a helpful staff, and easy access to electronically filed items in every state.
In an era of "streaming," Vintage Stock is an invaluable resource for old-school...
Read moreUnfortunately had the experience of dealing with the most rude woman over the phone I have ever dealt with. called with a simple question on a return in which I was scrutinized over my reciept because I wasn't sure if I had it in my email or on paper. She then went on to say, "Did you put you phone number in?" and when I said yes was immediately like oh well thats not a substitute for a reciept and got an even worse attitude. I clarified to say I indeed have the receipt to which she said oh well you'll also need a valid driver's liscence in the most condescending tone. I said I did and I just wanted to know if they had the item I was trying to exchange. They did not have it and I told her how rude she was and said I would no longer return to this location.
Not even 10 seconds later my Fiancée talked to the assistant store manager of the Vintage Stock in Joplin in which we bought these from and have no issues with. They had no problem pulling up my purchase history by my phone number in the same exact system used and had no problem and just told me I needed to bring back all the items I bought on that transaction as they were on sale and needed to be rerung up with said sales code.
My personal opinion is that the staff at this Vintage Stock is poorly trained and has poor customer service skills. It's not worth the time and there are better selections elsewhere in the area. But if you do find yourself in the Joplin area you should check out the Vintage Stock on Rangeline rd. They are a way bigger store with a much better...
Read moreI will never return to this store or any other in the chain. I stopped in to sell a small handful of movies, ok it was actually just shy of 400 but who's counting. I asked what to expect price wise, before we started the process. I was told some of the older movies it could be as low as $0.01, and the newer, clean movies I could expect 20% of there selling price. So while I waiting for them to review the movies, I looked thru the store to get an idea on what to expect. After 2 and 1/2 hours they were ready to make me an offer...
Wait for it..... the final offer was in the mid $60's. They said most of them rang up at $0.01. I did not see a single movie selling in the store for $0.05 so that blows the 20% theory out the window. Several of the movies were still in factory wrapping, never opened. A good majority were on the shelf for 9 to 14 dollars. I was insulted by the offer, pissed that I spent my afternoon waiting to be insulted.
The only positive part was the staff, both were friendly and helpful, my issue was not with the employees.
I'll take and donate them before I would sell anything...
